How is resetting undercoins evergreen?

Yup, been doing that too. Just felt like burning some undercoin on something frivolous. Kinda like how Elvis flew his whole entourage to Denver for a peanut butter sandwich.

This is the problem I see, a lot of people won’t spend them this week. There is no in-game place where Blizz reminds players what to spend and what to save. I assumed they would reset, and double checked through videos and PTR but why do people have to do that?

Blizz should send an ingame mail or quest one week prior to patch saying “spend X Y and Z currencies otherwise you lose them.”

Nah your right, id have lost all of mine and been pretty sad.

I don’t have an issue with it though, blizzard just needs to be better letting us know what is resetting in game.

Had I lost them and then calculated I could have made 100k gold by just dumping them into mats I would have been pretty ticked off, that is a good chunk of gold. The irony is the people who don’t realize they reset (dont watch videos or use out of game resources) are probably the same type who could use the gold the most.

And that’s the exact reason they reset currencies. Valor gets reset, why the surprise on Undercoins?

Because of my misperceived intent on the part of blizzard to create evergreen systems that didn’t take away what you’ve already learned and added to rather than reset.

If you have all the pets, toys, cosmetics and schematics, just dump them into the delve reagent bags. If you get a Profaned Tinderbox, grats on your 2k gold

I don’t think people are quite clear what Blizz means by evergreen. They’re just stating they want systems to remain in the game expansion after expansions, it doesn’t mean things won’t reset.

i think almost everyone is clear on it.

What would good design be?

You keep everything you buy (learned) with the coins. You even get to go spend all ya got now to get more things to keep.

What you don’t get, and have never gotten, is a head start buying things in the next season.

Are said pets and etc near Brann in Dornogal?

Yes. This is the guy you want to talk to.

“Evergreen content” means its something they keep developing every expansion (raid, dungeons) instead of having its time in the spotlight and not being updated past the patch/expansion it was released with (Torghast, Horrific Visions, Warfronts, etc)

its simply because Blizzard doesnt understand the meaning of “Evergreen”. In fact, most players dont understand what it means either. If only they could consolidate some of their currencies and create a legacy currency for these sorts of things.

I’d buy reagents but hold off on selling them. Right now we are in the dip, once S2 is underway and crafting becomes de rigeuer for prog the value of reagents should shoot up.

No there isn’t. Keeping Undercoins and making the S2 reagent bags cost 1500 is WORSE, people will whine that they should be able to buy stuff at the old price because they didn’t know. None of that. Cash out. Send players to look at the vendor to see what to spend it on. A ton of very inattentive players are discovering for the first time, oh look, reagent bags. Get those into the economy for the start of a new season and all the crafting that will happen in 2 weeks.

Win-win.
Definitionally a good design if everybody benefits.

In gaming, evergreen refers to content or games that remain relevant and popular over a long period of time

I always thought this was the approximate definition. What is OP talking about, I didn’t think “evergreen” had anything to do seasonal resets? Only that it continues being relevant indefinitely? The content type rewarding undercoins will still be relevant…

Your feedback is fine, I think it’s just using incorrect terminology.
