The insane amount of high gear carries
The 20+ ilvl gear gap even in VERY low CR
Dying within 2s because of the insane burst
This…isn’t…fun

Arena gets better at 60
Speaking from a level 60’s perspective: no. It does not.
I am honestly afraid with Blizzard seemingly not listening, and the state of PvP letting carries with 20+ ilvl smack new players around and requiring 72 WINS…not games but 72 WINS to get a 2h weapons…
WoW PvP will die and be left with nothing but people paying to win games.
I fully expect WoTLK arena to take over the Retail arena scene when WoTLK Classic comes out.
Classes feel better to play, there is consistent pressure outside of huge CDs, there are less “full stop” defensive CDs, there is no WW/DH anime heros flying all over the map with infinite mobility, there is no insanely game-breaking borrowed power effects, and PvP gear is once again… PvP gear. No upgrades (other than weapon?), no high rating requirement for highest level, it’s just BIS.
Inb4 Retail shills counter with “bUt s5 dEAthKniGHts aND sHAdoWmOurNe”.
Right, it’ll be interesting to see how many viewers an OTK TBC classic 3v3/2v2 tourney pulls compared to retail AWC. Even those cute vanilla duel tournaments pulled some very respectable numbers
Personally I can’t wait to hop between retail/classic arenas, keeps things fresh
Well it looks like their willing to change some things even covenant related in upcoming patches so maybe they’ll make other big changes.
I don’t disagree that it would be more fun, but I genuinely think you’re overestimating just how many people want to revisit classic (in general) lol.
Ah yes, I can’t wait to see the people’s tears when Ret/war/rsham gets windfury totem + bloodlust and just wrecks kids. Those were good times.
Possibly, but this is how player interaction around WoTLK will likely go:
Every streamer hypes it up because it’s their job to do so. Not playing WoTLK will cost them subs/money, so every single streamer will jump on the WoTLK bandwagon for their chance at (more money). Every viewer surrounding WoW will likely at least try it, even if they didn’t plan to, because of it’s perceived popularity/hype.
The game will likely launch on 3.3.5, and every class has a high-end viable spec, and casual players will not have to buy boosts to get their BIS gear. Most people will find the overall game style and pacing of WoTLK preferrable to Retail arena, and soon the only players left playing Retail for arena are those who play in the AWC (again, for money).
This is all under the assumption that Activision keeps doing a poor job at dictating Retail arena pacing and balance, and I think that’s an entirely fair assumption to make.
im 222 item level and i still lose to people with 205 haha
Some people are bad at pvp with mythic 12 , mythic 15 gears, they don’t even know how to pvp. You can still win against those kinds of people . Carries can’t 2v1 at all time. Try to kill carries if you see them with high gears. I also faced even R1 disc at 1500 bracket while i gearing my alt. Both of us manage to CC that guy and kill the booster. Most boosters play bad and they can’t climb higher than 1600 or 1800 even with multi glads.
Arena gets better at 60
if you think burst is high now i cant wait until you get to sample some wotlk arena
When people actually got gloabl’d by wizards
and warrior ret or beastcleave or dying in a deep freeze. people always say oh bc tbc or mop were best pvp. except there is always stuff instagibbing people its funny
TBC and wotlk were bursty af back then. Imagine now with people knowing so much more about the games and comps how much worse it’ll be. Unkillable druid/war 2s. Rmp, turbo. Nah tbc is still my favorite exp but only in memory. I’d play it for nostalgia sake just like i did classic, but I’d likely never make it to endgame just like classic, because classic was also ruined by min/maxing players that knew 100x more about classic than when it was vanilla.
people havent been hit with the swifty one shot macros in a long time they seem to have forgot lol
It also exists in retail.
Weren’t damage cds less potent and base damage higher? Or am I mistaken?
