How is pvp fun

I’m curious to hear why people think pvp is fun in this game when it’s just a massive CC fest and you can’t even play your character. the biggest issue is how the game allows nonstop chain CC even with DR in place.

There’s a certain point where you can’t even outplay it and just get stuck in a endless loop of CC because how the game’s designed.

Idk if the solution is to make everything share DR with each other or greatly increase the CD for CC spells but something needs to be done how insane CC these days and how you can get locked down for so long.

Because you get to play with friends and progress with them and learn/adapt your strategy as you both start to sync with each other until its intuitive and can both share the pain and joys of doing amazing outplays or laugh about really unfortunate misplays

Idk i mean i don’t see how pve is fun, spend a night wiping on a boss, finally kill it then don’t get loot because of rng? Doesn’t sound fun or productive to me lol

Its fun for me personally because it makes my heart beat very fast. i have to pay attention to allot more stuff then i do in raids.

like you said. CC currently is annoying. very annoying.

i havent really enjoyed pvp since they got rid of warlock metamorphisis tbh.

stop letting people setup and cc you for free
unless it’s rmx/rmp
they’re special golden children who can do no wrong, just ask the one pvp intern who definitely plays a warlock and mage

It’s a lot more fun once you get decent at it.

I spent a lot of time PvPing when I was growing up, and I’ve always enjoyed this games PvP. The pace of the game has changed a lot though in the last few expansion packs. I think player power is way too high, due not only to borrowed power systems, but also just general class and combat design.

  • Auto attacks essentially dont exist, and every melee is now a button masher, with 15 different abilities that all deal damage.
  • Hit rating and resistances are gone, which means the game has become far more scripted. - PvP ratings punish losses harder than just losing RL time, causing you to lose progress, leading directly to “toxicity” and driving away casual PvP.
  • The arms race between melee and ranged in PvP has led directly to big bulky plate wearers being times squishier than clothies like warlocks and mages.
  • infinite melee mobility is ridiculous, as is caster tankiness.
  • Rogue control + damage + mobility + defensives + stealth.
  • Why are we here? Just to suffer?

I never played ranked so I’m not a pvper and I wouldn’t know.

You just have to learn not to get frustrated in PvP. Deaths and losses are going to happen. But so are kills and victories. I love playing PvP because of how fast-paced it is and how much involvement other players have with my gameplay. It’s like a battle royale.

Pvp to me is the most fun content in the game. Because every game is different and not scripted event that you just learn once and put it on farm.

Im also competitive and i like to puah myself to be better.

The cc fest part is only partially true. Once you learn the interactions between all classes and abilities it becomes infinitelly easier to deal with it. Do you know Demon Hunters can reverse poly from a teammate, or that you can cloack of shadows a HoJ or mortal coil? I didnt either, but now that i do, the games mechanocs become much easier to deal with.

Im not a great pvper by any means, but i only started playing wow like 2 months ago, and i lvled almost all classes to max just to learn abilities and i trully did oearn alot.

Takes time, but in the end its cery rewarding. My 2 cents.

The feeling of outplaying your oponents and killing them is very satisfying.

You get to use every spell in your spellbook, much more than in pve.

PvP talents help to fullfil the spec fantasy.

Well, it’s really just subjective. You’ll have to find what’s fun about it for you.

Almost every pro people lost in here are reasons I don’t like PvP. But for me it’s not just in WoW, I don’t PvP anywhere.

I only insert my unskilled self into the BGs of actual PvPers so they can carry me. Need to get those transmogs somehow, since they removed WQs for easy Marks.

Not why, when. It’s fun when you win.

Which, if you’re Horde, is 90% of the time!

It’s just a grand old time after you get into the swing of it and have regular people to play with.

I’m sad that it took me so long to get into it; raiding is just too many people.

Hey man, we don’t have “peace chiefs”. :flushed:

Arena is the worst experience I’ve ever had in WoW.
I so wish they focused more on rated BG’s.

I focused on pvp wotlk-mop (2200 in wotlk 2400 in mop) and a few seasons from wod onwards and it used to be way more fun. Trading cooldowns and capitalizing on someone’s mistakes. Now it’s just a zerg fest and not near as fun, or I just don’t enjoy the game like I used to. Melee have become so homogenzied and have so much mobility to stick to their targets thanks to mages it’s not fun to be chain stunned, kicked and zerged down. Mage/locks are pretty anti fun these days too.

Its not going to be fun for you in 150 item level in fury spec. If I had it that difficult I wouldnt even bother to try cuz that will only lead to back to back one shots from most anyone out there.

My fury warrior never struggles with CC.

Play with friends, do WQs, do dungeons, try getting gear from AH. gear up, then you will do better.

Depending on the class you can be stun-locked for several seconds (5-10) - and this still does not includes class locks (Arcane, Death, …)

Just to you an example of one of the most extreme permalocks in the game: You could stun someone in PVP every seven seconds with a Legion Brewmaster for three seconds which made fighting very one-sided. On top of that, you could use the skill two times in a row - which made it almost impossible to counter act.
