His Swifty meltdown was epic.
Can’t link it because of language.

And that’s why PvP scares me silly, lol.
We’re not really defending multiboxing. It’s just something there’s no effective means to fight it because if someone has that much disposable income, they’ll find a way which means any effort to fight it only hurts the bystanders and not the intended target of multiboxers. The collateral damage would exceed the damage caused by said multiboxers.
Multiboxers are mitigated through the form of instanced content in that they control the number of player-character slots. Openworld content is never considered balanced and will never been the focus on the game.
If it is his revenge farm video during WoD you might see my Troll Warlock Tusktickular now a Void Elf named Msßysmal in the clutter of the bodies piled up farming him ![]()
I’m a one trick pony ele shaman. I kite groups to cliffs, and Thunderstorm them off. Plenty of times I can get large groups, others just one or none and beaten into a bloody smear on the ground lol.
I do not like multiboxers. I just know there’s no effective means to stop them from existing and if they tried to stamp them out, it runs the risk of collateral damage of players getting caught up in bans just because they live with someone who also plays the game or I can play with any friends in person.
Even if that were true, they shouldn’t publicly say multiboxing is ok. It should be against ToS even if they don’t strongly enforce it.
Looks like it was during MoP.
Aw, boo. Was spending most my days getting green fire and attempting to raid higher then lfr / normal as a Demo lock during the great “We would rather you not play Demo” days starting and failing horribly lol, not much PvP for me during MoP sadly. WoD and up was when I got back into it.
They observe bots so that they can identify the mechanisms at play so that they can break said mechanisms when they go to ban said bots.
You’re asking for GMs to spend time to observe players to determine if they’re multiboxing or not and then dealing with people who file false reports or trying to catch said players online to observe them. The amount of time and manpower to enforce such a rule just stop something that doesn’t happen all too often since multi-boxing is cost prohibitive and most players simply see it as too much work to do even if they can afford it. Yes. Just like every time you report someone for language, cheating, harassment, botting, etc., it generates a report and someone has to go check up into it. So yes, I think it’s perfectly fine to add multiboxing to the list. Especially since most multiboxers can be spotted a mile off.
Well, hello, Mister Strawman.
There wouldn’t be a “PR nightmare,” because multiboxing is one of the easiest exploits to spot.
Even if I give you the benefit of the doubt and say a CM makes the wrong call, guess what? They made the wrong call a few times in MoP and nobody died. People got their accounts back. And that was with a scenario that was much harder to ascertain (botting) than multiboxing is. It even got to the point of CMs opening up in-game chat and directly communicating with people as they flew around and farmed, to see if they’d reply.
Lets waste GM time by having them respond promptly to every Multiboxer report…ya wise idea there.
Probably the reason why they say multiboxing is okay is so that they can establish the guidelines around it as it is very easy to cross over from multiboxing to automation. Establishing the guidelines keeps players from getting confused on what is acceptable and what is not.
The rule of thumb is always, “one key press, one action.” With multiboxing, the additional running clients of WoW are simultaneously listening to the same keypress event.
But like I said, multiboxing is mostly mitigated by the need of having multiple copies of the game, multiple subscriptions, a computer good enough to run multiple copies of the game as well as end game content being instanced and thus limited number of slots for player-characters and requiring mechanics that characters must react to as individuals. Thus, multiboxing is largely mitigated without the need to outright banning it.
Well I know that.
Ive always known that there is no real way to get rid of them. I simply stated my opinion on the matter based on my own experiences. I didn’t come into this thread to attack anyone, specifically.
No, I do not main shaman. I’ve just been posting on this character because I used him for my Korrak thread. He’s also the last 120 I’m getting from that event. So he is my most recent experience in there.
And thus, the core issue: Money makes it all OK. If you have the money, you get to bend, if not the rules themselves, at least the spirit.
If that’s what Blizzard wants from their game, fine. But the integrity of the game as some form of competition goes out the window with it. It’s a form of pay-to-win with the only saving grace being that not just anyone can automatically multibox effectively. But even opening the door to letting that kind of “skill” into the game invites a discussion of integrity.
Well, at least you can somewhat rest easier then, and not feel like a complete punching bag without using situational gimmicks to win (well that’s my case anyways lol).
Although, I have yet to find any greater glee and child like wonderment then Thunderstorming an entire team off mid in EotS.
I enjoyed thunderstorm so much, that I used it even when I’m wasn’t near a cliff. Yeah, it really didn’t do a whole lot, but it just kind of felt like I was giving them a big old punch and it was funny to me. I mostly used it to knock people off towers.
But most of the games I was healing.
Multiboxing is a smaller problem then Botting and fighting it is a logistics nightmare as I have said. Thats why Blizzards just allows it, they would lose more money fighting multiboxing then what it currently puts in their pockets.
Mutliboxers:
Annoy people
Some times lag zones
hurt the economy
Hard to get rid of
Bots:
Seriously hurt the economy
spam chat
hack the game
Steal wow accounts
Take money from Blizzard through RMT.
Hard to get rid of
Fighting Multiboxers sounds like a waste of time and money in comparison to fighting bots. Dont ya think?
we did explain read up we also invited you to the discord to see more for yourself yet you seem to ignore this? probably intentional
You need an actual human to do the key press.
Turn Warmode off if you don’t want to deal with it lmao
In reality, every single aspect of multiboxing is by definition cheating, even if the person isn’t afking like bots would do, however Blizzard says it isn’t because a single multiboxer is worth a bunch of players in money (subs, expansions etc).
That’s 100% the reason why it’s allowed, money. Any “less greedy” company would ban these people right away, but let’s face it, we know Blizzard well enough to know that won’t ever happen, hell, I can imagine they starting to let other things like botting as long as the botters keep paying in the future.
