How is multiboxing not exploitation of the game?

No more than having multiple accounts and not multiboxing;

Or buying items in the cash shop.

Or paying in a chunk for a 6 month sub versus a per monthly time card…

Again economic disparity does not make available services “paying to win” or “cheating” or in any way wrong.

This is a bad argument, despite how people may “feel” about not being able to afford things they like. That doesn’t make people who can afford them “cheaters.”

mmk, this is why I’m condescending to you. You’re hopeless.
Luckily no one agrees with you (just google it). Don’t care about this topic enough to keep explaining the same things to you. All you need to think about: If accounts were free, why wouldn’t I multibox? Answer: I would multibox because it’s clearly superior. And since the only barrier is payment, THAT MAKES IT P2W.
Bye, Fred.

Oh, right, they did a complete 180 on their game direction because people were happy with how no-flying was working out.

Then Blizzard needs to eliminate the “follow” feature for sure.

Honestly, i wonder how many people actually use it to begin with. Theres quite alot of 2 person mounts in the game nowadays. I can’t remember how long its been since i last used Follow, or had it used on me personally.

What artificial means? You can multibox through hardware as well. It’s just more expensive that way.

It would help if people did any research on multiboxing so they could have an educated opinion on the subject instead of being the equivalent of anti-vaxxers.

You misinterpret my disagreement with you as a lack of understanding.

And even a casual glance at this thread shows that a lot of people agree with me on this and the other subject you refuse to discuss honestly.

Goodnight.

It’s convenient when traveling in a group and you just have to have to get up… or… pizza lag and you don’t want to hold up the group. You know how it is.

Informed opinions are helpful.

But when you haven’t done MB and you have no actual knowledge or understanding of how it works, or even what it is (and reviewing your posts reveals a shocking lack of either) any opinions just sound foolish and uninformed. Because they are.

By that logic, people can’t say murder is bad because they haven’t done it.

Murder is illegal.
Multiboxing isn’t

Don’t be asinine. It really doesn’t help. Do yourself a favor and educate yourself about multiboxing. There is plenty of very good in-depth information that explains the process and the difference between automation and replication.

At the end of the day, your opinion doesn’t matter, any more than mine does. Blizzard allows it and it is unlikely that it will be outlawed any time soon. And that’s because the process does not violate any rules. Perhaps if you gained knowledge and understanding about it you would see why this doesn’t violate any rules of the game, the TOS or EULA and has been done for the last fifteen years.

short story blizzard make money, long story is if you read the tos/tou you can only use a program authorized by blizzard. I put a ticket in asking what program the approved they said they didn’t and I was to ask other people here on the forums…. so they do want you to break the tos/tou only if it makes them money.lol

You do not need a 3rd party program to multibox. People are so dense you could drive a tank into their skulls and they would think someone threw a pebble at them. :roll_eyes: If you got a the money 2 computers tied to a kb/m multicaster boom your multiboxing with no 3rd party program. More you know the less dumb you look :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep. The biggest challenge of multiboxing is leveling, gearing and coordinating your team.

Well, let’s look at the EULA:

From section 4:

AN “UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM” AS USED HEREIN SHALL BE DEFINED AS ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE PROHIBITED BY SECTION 1.C. ABOVE.

So let’s look at Section 1. C:

License Limitations. Blizzard may suspend or revoke your license to use the Platform, or parts, components and/or single features thereof, if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following:

i. Derivative Works: Copy or reproduce (except as provided in Section 1.B.), translate, reverse engineer, derive source code from, modify, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on or related to the Platform.

ii. Cheating: Create, use, offer, promote, advertise, make available and/or distribute the following or assist therein:

  1. cheats; i.e. methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;

  2. bots; i.e. any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that allows the automated control of a Game, or any other feature of the Platform, e.g. the automated control of a character in a Game;

  3. hacks; i.e. accessing or modifying the software of the Platform in any manner not expressly authorized by Blizzard; and/or

  4. any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that can be used in connection with the Platform and/or any component or feature thereof which changes and/or facilitates the gameplay or other functionality;

iii. Prohibited Commercial Uses: Exploit, in its entirety or individual components, the Platform for any purpose not expressly authorized by Blizzard, including, without limitation (i) playing the Game(s) at commercial establishments (subject to Section 1.B.v.3.); (ii) gathering in-game currency, items, or resources for sale outside of the Platform or the Game(s); (iii) performing in-game services including, without limitation, account boosting or power-leveling, in exchange for payment; (iv) communicating or facilitating (by text, live audio communications, or otherwise) any commercial advertisement, solicitation or offer through or within the Platform; or (v) organizing, promoting, facilitating, or participating in any event involving wagering on the outcome, or any other aspect of, Blizzard’s Games, whether or not such conduct constitutes gambling under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction, without authorization.

iv. “esports”: Use the Platform for any esports or group competition sponsored, promoted or facilitated by any commercial or non-profit entity without obtaining additional authorization from Blizzard or obtaining Blizzard’s prior written consent. For more information on obtaining appropriate authorization, please visit Blizzard’s website.

v. Cloud Computing: Use the Platform, including a Game, in connection with any unauthorized third-party “cloud computing” services, “cloud gaming” services, or any software or service designed to enable the unauthorized streaming or transmission of Game content from a third-party server to any device.

vi. Data Mining: Use any unauthorized process or software that intercepts, collects, reads, or “mines” information generated or stored by the Platform; provided, however, that Blizzard may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third-party user interfaces.

vii. Duplicated Items: Create, utilize or transact in any in-game item created or copied by exploiting a design flaw, undocumented problem, or program bug in the Platform.

viii. Matchmaking: Host, provide or develop matchmaking services for the Game(s), or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Blizzard in any way, for any purpose, including without limitation unauthorized play over the internet, network play (except as expressly authorized by Blizzard), or as part of content aggregation networks.

ix. Unauthorized Connections: Facilitate, create or maintain any unauthorized connection to the Platform including without limitation (i) any connection to any unauthorized server that emulates, or attempts to emulate, the Platform; and (ii) any connection using third-party programs or tools not expressly authorized by Blizzard.

x. Transfers: Attempt to sell, sublicense, rent, lease, grant a security interest in or otherwise transfer any copy of the Platform or component thereof, or your rights to the Platform to any other party in any way not expressly authorized herein.

xi. Disruption / Harassment: Engage in any conduct intended to disrupt or diminish the game experience for other players, or disrupt operation of Blizzard’s Platform in any way, including:

  1. Disrupting or assisting in the disruption of any computer used to support the Platform or any Game environment. ANY ATTEMPT BY YOU TO DISRUPT THE PLATFORM OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF ANY GAME MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS.

  2. Harassment, “griefing,” abusive behavior or chat, conduct intended to unreasonably undermine or disrupt the Game experiences of others, deliberate inactivity or disconnecting, and/or any other activity which violates Blizzard’s Code of Conduct or In-Game Policies.

xii. Violation of Laws: use the Platform to violate any applicable law or regulation.

Well, multiboxing software doesn’t actually violate any of those rules, so it’s not unauthorized software.

You’re adorable. Since we are falling back to the age-old tactic of simply insulting people who don’t share our opinion, I have most likely been multi-boxing since before you were in diapers. I have a modest three accounts in WoW, but have run many more in games like EQ, DAoC, WHO, and others. I am well aware of what multiboxing is, and how to do it. It is also almost a mathematical certainty that I can afford much more than you can both in-game and out, so any silly mention of “jealousy” is also moot.

It is one thing to defend your position, or to defend Blizzard’s, but you have quite possibly the silliest responses I’ve seen on these forums outside of that Raistlin guy, and he is actually trying to be silly.

I wish you well.

Then why do you apparently not understand how multiboxing software works? There is no duplication involved, as you claimed there was.

Apologies, I shall now use “key broadcasting” in place of “duplication”. Same meaning, but whatever.

1 Like

But it’s not the same meaning. Duplication assumes that multiple copies are being created, that’s not how multiboxing works.

The very basic idea is that multiboxing software allows each client window to “listen” to the keyboard instead of just the client window that is in focus. So you press one button on the keyboard and each client window “hears” that button press and reacts accordingly.

care to give details of the claims you just made?

how do blizzard “fix” their “broken” game so we can log all our characters on a single account at the same time?

…and if the reason that we can’t log into our all of our characters at once isn’t due to a limitation of the client, what is the reason that they simply choose to disallow it?
