How is glimmer of light that good?

I see holy paladins run it in raids usually (I mostly arena so I don’t run it) but I’m wondering why most hpall’s run glimmer of light in PvE? The tooltip looks really bad says it only heals for like 2k…2k guys

Yet in raids I see it critting for 30k? How does a 2k trait end up healing for 30k? Tons of mastery? Just curious really since I only PvP with 3x justice traits as holy lol

It scales with all of our secondaries. You also have 3 of the traits so 6k for each glimmer on the raid+mastery+vers+Crit and it also scales with haste.

Not only that but the healing and damage from glimmer also increases with your azerite piece item level. So a 445 glimmer piece will be a lot more healing than a 420 per glimmer trait. Then you also have wings on top of all of that as well. Keep in mind you have multiple glimmers out at once, with wings you have upwards of 15+ glimmers out. That’s how you see each glimmer healing for a lot, due to scaling with secondaries, higher azerite ilvl, etc.

Sounds like you don’t quite understand the mechanic. It’s not 2k per cast of Holy Shock, it’s 2k per cast on every target who currently has Glimmer.

So toward the end of a perfect wings, I have Glimmer rolling on maybe 15 targets; with triple Glimmer hitting for ~6k each that totals to ~90k base healing per cast (further modified by vers, wings, crit etc. not to mention the direct Holy Shock healing). That’s how you see H Pallies bursting for 100k+ HPS.

6k heal on everyone in the raid, plus wings with 50% holy shock cd, it’s insane

It’s actually half decent for arena too. Slap it on a healer that’s low mana and you think is about to go drink, or one who’s actively running away to drink, and all you have to do when they start to drink is cast a Holy Shock on anyone and they’ll take glimmer damage and it’ll stop their drinking.

Add a couple of radiant incandescence that adds brief yet pretty strong HoT on your HS. and you are laughing.

Not sure if its possible but have 3 glimmers and 3 radiant incandescence would be nuts.

you probably still want one Breaking Dawn though since normaly you’ll play with the Crusader’s Might Talent, with Heavy Haste you can cast LoD way more often.

Try 3x Justice and 3 Glimmer. Trust me. you can Heal and DMG with your Holy shock if you send extras on enemies. it sticks for 30 sec it is pretty big at the end when u look at stats.

My default PvE traits for Glimmer build is 3x Glimmer, 1x LoD, 1x LD, 1x Incadescence. With Radiant Incadescence being my lowest priority.

As to the OPs original question, I will reiterate what others have stated. Glimmer might be a ~2k heal/damage trait solo, but stack it 3 times and that’s 6-7k. Add Vers at 10%, add mastery at 30% and the base heal easily goes over 10k. Then it can crit. It gets strong because of how well it scales with item level.
