is anyone still able to farm this herb efficiently? Or should I just become an AH alchemist instead? Just want to see if leveling herbalism is even worth it anymore.

There isn’t bot competition. It’s just complete bot domination. You’ll waste every bit of gold per hour trying to find Lotus.
Besides, you’re a mage, go farm dungeons.

You find Black Lotus through Random Acts of God. Any lotus you find is a miracle and should be a cherished memory.

So far I’ve found 3. 1 before the ban wave and 2 the same day after the ban wave.
It definitely is incredibly difficult to find but you definitely get a rush when you do find one lol.
My advise, just focus on farming dreamfoil, plaguebloom, etc. as they have many of the same spawn points/pathing that black lotus does. Once you find one they have about a 1hr respawn time so you can create a rough idea on when to expect the next one.
My best luck has been in burning steppes as when you fly in you can get a rough scan done of the area.
As a way to combat botting I wouldn’t mind seeing what they did in SoM with having a small % chance of black lotus dropping from other high lvl herbs. My coolest herbalism point was when I found a black lotus and got a second black lotus from the black lotus I found naturally.

If bots were herbing, the price of gromsblood wouldn’t be 2g per unit. They are selling summons, they are not participating in the economy the way they did before in 2019. Selling summons is the new meta for them.
bots prevent total collapse of certain goods by buying below a certain price and setting walls of goods that adjust in real time if some one tries to mass buy as well

This is the best way. Farming lotus will just leave you frustrated. I got 32 b.lotus at the peak of bots in Era. They are not super-efficient, they are just consistent. I also think a lot of the “bots” are actually just competition. People don’t like competition, get beat, must have been a bot because “I’m good at xyz” so it had to be a cheater advantage.

don’t go hunting lotus. just quest and do ur thing and they will come to you naturally
I’m willing to bet that a lot of people blaming bots just aren’t that good at lotus farming. I’m sure there are some bots out there farming but you can definitely beat them to it. If you don’t have a hunter it’s going to be tough, but there is another option if you don’t have a hunter. Instead of searching for black lotus just wait for the black lotus to come to you. This is especially effective if you work from home and can have a laptop running next to you all day.
If you’re one of the classes that can get mine or herb nodes from DME you won’t have to worry about open world competition soon.
Can Bliz get off there butts and do something about this. IVe been farming all day to try and find one and still havent. What a waste of time. If you cant fix the bots then increase the spawn rate. The prices are so damn high that the more there are the less it will cost. This is total BS.

Groms blood is cheap because it’s from a dungeon. Bots would never nuke that.
I’ve found like 35+ on Dreamscythe since I hit max.

I made that post before Dire Mail was release when Gromsblood was not cheap. Guess the problem fixed itself.
