How is Dalaran?

Good morning Dalaran,

my group and i are looking to transfer servers, looking for a lively server with plenty of guild opportunities. One of them mentioned Dalaran was had a lot of potential which is why i would like to ask all of you for some insight on your server

Would appreciate information from both horde and alliance if possible on the grounds of PvP, Mythic+, Rp.

Thank you in advance.

Dalaran isn’t a RP realm. RP events do happen on it, but they are extremely rare. You can always join events hosted on other realms but if RP is a deal breaker, you’re best served by going to another realm.

It is a large population realm with all the benefits/drawbacks that go with that. And while there are more alliance players there’s also a significant # of horde too. That’s a plus for recruiting.

It wasn’t one of the pvp realms originally and most players on it are still pve focused. There are rated pvp’ers here but they are much less than say Stormrage and Illidan. For Wpvp, your realm choice doesn’t matter beyond the RP vs non-RP. When you turn warmode on, you fight with and against players from all realms. Except RP realms only shard together and non-RP realms only shard together. Using group finder changes that somewhat but generally with warmode on I’ll see players from Stormrage but not Emerald Dream.

For raiding it’s good. Again, not top of the line, as far as realms go, for raiding, but fairly good. I have several friends (horde and alliance) on dalaran that are in Mythic raiding guilds. I know the horde side of my guild raided mythic in the past. Lots and lots of heroic raiding happening if mythic isn’t your thing.

Dalaran is a very friendly place for both horde and alliance players. It’s rare to have a bad experience with a dalaran player. I can’t say that about many other realms whose players I’ve encountered.

Hope this helps.

Dalaran is a very large server that’s about 60/40 Alliance/Horde. That means while its as big as some of the biggest servers out there, it doesn’t quite feel as big due to the balanced factions.

There are a lot of guilds on the server, so you will have lots to choose from. If you’re looking at high end raiding, there are only a handful of options. But for AOTC+ level and below you won’t run out of choices. I can’t speak to PVP as I don’t do it much. Same goes for RP.

Honestly, for the best insights on the server, I recommend stopping by the server Discord channel. Its what helped sell this server to me and my guild when we decided to abandon our dead server. You’ll be able to get information from various guilds, see the guild recruiting database, get a feel for the players, etc.

While the Discord is a good tool, the guild database is quite bare bones. Tinkerrific’s post is quite informative.

Used to have an even ratio between A and H. Horde side is not as busy. If you’re looking to recruitment then tbh with you you might have a hard time recruiting local horde dalaraners.
