How is the new raid compared to previous raids in WoW?
Lots of trash like in Uldir? Hopefully not…
I wont get to experience it until LFR

Trash is decent, not too much, not too little.
I like it, very fun raid and fun mechanics.
Rakhastan was a very disappointing fight, considering he was the big baddie in there but he’s also a lore nobody so I can see why he’s such an easy fight. Haven’'t fought Jaina yet so can’t say what she’s like but she looked tough on video.
Also Grong fight is the only boss that’s different for each side. Horde fight a living gorilla Grong, and kill him. Bwosandi revives the Gorilla and makes him fight the alliance.
Trash is Ok, the raid in general is fun, the soundtrack and the visuals are great.
Not to much trash. And most of the bosses so far seemed pretty decent outside of Grong.
no fugly worm to fight.
automatic 10/10
Loving it so far. Had our first pull on Rastakhan tonight. It’s strange fighting as Alliance, but I can appreciate Blizz trying something different.
I love the lack of trash in the raid, was way too much back in Uldir. But in terms of bosses, I found Rastakhan and Champion to be very disappointing fights. Heroic Mekkatorque was the most fun I’ve ever had in a heroic fight before though. So overall, I say it’s a 7.5/10 raid.
How can you dislike a huge gorilla though?
It is nice raiding in a place that looks nice! The bosses are fun and so far there isn’t a ton of trash. I don’t like that Night Elves go troll for the alliance part of the fight and that you can’t transmog the ugly gear they put us in. But besides that, it is a fun raid so far (we are 6/9)
My only complaint is that the armor is ugly when I turn into a female human.
Some of the fights are gimmicky and annoying. At least we dont have to wait for specific players to solo something though.
How’s pugging it? Same old same old? Or a little easier then uldir?
PUGs are usually pretty rough unless you get into a guild alt run. Any encounters with “personal responsibility”-mechanics are like that.
Half of normal is pretty undertuned. Champion of the Light is good, but Jadefire Masters are like a trash pull on Normal, missing two at least two critical mechanics that make it the boss it’s supposed to be. Grong hits appropriately hard, but is very basic, mechanically.
Opulence is interesting, and definitely requires you to pay attention leading up to him. Conclave felt tougher, but it was one of the coolest and most chaotic fights, while also sporting good tuning.
King Rastakhan was surprisingly low-pressure. I don’t think his mechanics are meant to be handled the way they currently are…
High Tinker Mekkatorque is fun, unique, and a little chaotic. I wonder if they’ll leave the current Shrink/Bot mechanics as they are for LFR.
Stormwall Blockade is an okay fight that seems to be grossly overtuned on normal. The DPS requirements are well beyond what any normal group that is appropriately geared will be able to meet, and the mechanics need to be executed near-flawlessly to boot.
I haven’t made it to Jaina, and I wanted to clear normal before Heroic.
Sound track is wonderful. I’m listening to it right now as I take my morning run.
The raid is fine so far, much better than Uldir. We downed 4 bosses. Opulence is going to be the pug killer though and I wonder how LFR is going to handle it.
I have to agree, so far this has been a very fun encounter to learn as a group. The way the run up is done with the mechanics spread out spatially really makes it easy to observe your progress in learning the encounter.
It’s not really the fight in general its more of his mechanics lacking compared to the others.
lol, what?
Before BFA he wasn’t known at all except to a few people who read some books.
We need to call it something else. Cause all I keep seeing is Blackfathom Deeps. Just sayin’.
