How is Alliance RP over here?

Hey lads, considering moving here from Moon Guard, mostly because of the “balanced” population.
How viable is the Alliance RP over here since i’m considering making a Dark Iron warlock/fire mage.

I told a joke in their Trade and was called retarded and mocked for 20 minutes.

E: Doesn’t answer how their RP is. From what I see on here though, they have a bit of everything and there are some nice ones out there

Ah, home sweet home.

I have noticed that trade is weirdly volatile on Alliance o.O BUT that’s trade chat. I don’t really see that pervade other aspects.

I consider both sides’ RP pretty equal, with a good mix of walk up, guild, and world RP. You’ll see people out in the world gathered for adventures and whatnot pretty often, I really like it. I consider WrA as a whole really well-rounded.

Sounds like I need to get out there in that world, Alliance-side!

(You should only go to trade chat if you’re looking for the type of trollish venue it provides.)

Alliance RP isn’t bad. If you’re making a Dark Iron, you can contact the Meadhall for Dwarven RP, or look around and find any other number of good RP sources/guilds.

Trade is utter poison on both factions on all realms. I only visit when I’m feeling sadistic.

Honestly yeah. When I say Alliance trade is bad I don’t mean Horde’s isn’t. By any means. I’ve just had some particularly insane experiences observed in Alliance trade chat, when I care to watch it.

What does Trade chat have to do with RP?

I think he was just sharing an experience he had with a small, negative portion of the community. He did acknowledge that it wasn’t really helpful too, in his edit.

I was just sharing my experience with the community Alliance-side since my morning pre-coffee eyes missed the two little letters R and P, Enekie.

To further expand on what my edit was about, you Alliance folks on the Forums who dabble or strictly RP obviously have more experience in it than I do and seem way more friendly. On top of that, not everyone who does RP is on the forums, so I’m sure you folks are great.

I have found that many, though not all, of the Alliance’s more caustic elements confine themselves to Trade chat and other OOC spheres, which I much prefer over worrying if the blood elf noble approaching me is going to start screaming at my character about pumping out babies for the glory of the Fatherland.

The Alliance RP scene on WrA is both active and diverse (IC and OOC), though it did seem to be going through a bit of a slump the last time I was logged in. You’ll find walk-up RP in abundance throughout Stormwind, with the Mage Quarter (yes, all of it), the Pig and Whistle in Old Town, the fountain outside the Cathedral, and the Park being the main hangouts. Quality varies, but I have found that the majority of encounters are pleasant.

Further, WrA has an absolutely massive dwarf RP community, if that’s something you’re interested in, and slightly smaller but just as active void elf, draenei, and night elf communities. While Stormwind dominates the walk-up scene, you’re still liable to run into people in Ironforge, Elwynn, and just out in the world in general.

WrA’s RP scene as a whole has some… quirks, let’s say, which set it apart from other servers and communities. WrA is intensely adverse to the idea of “server canon” and self-elected “pillars of the community” dominating specific sub-scenes of RP. You’re not going to find many guilds roleplaying as in-lore institutions, individuals roleplaying in-lore positions of authority, or massive cross-guild events that affect the entire server. Stuff like the Stormwind Law Project and the House of Nobles just wouldn’t fly here. We’re too ornery and independent.

Beyond that, my advice would be to avoid House guilds, watch out for male human paladins from Lordaeron, and take no sh*t. And maybe consider rolling an alt and running around for a bit. You know better than us what you’re looking for and what you want out of an RP server.

And while you’re running around, consider /joining themeadhall to get a feel for WrA’s wonderful dwarf community!

You weren’t making a joke, but I still thought this was great.

Stormwind’s not as busy as Moon Guard’s version, and it’s sliiightly less packed than Horde RP in the late hours. But there’s always someone RPing in the Mage District and Park at all hours of the day, and you can often find people RPing in other parts of the city during the peak hours. I’d definitely recommend it!

That’s because you look like a Scarlet mob and I wanted to see what you’d drop.

Hi! I’ve found Alliance RP to be more open on average than Horde. I get a lot more walk-ups in Stormwind than I do in Org, but that might just be 'cause my undead toons look scary.
Folks had it right that most casual rp happens in Stormwind, but there are so many groups arranging rp in other places. I see tavern nights or other rp in Boralus all the time! The dwarf community is pretty spiffy, so I highly recommend poking around in there. If you have trouble, the server discord is also happy to help out with finding events, guilds, and friends.
Hope this helps!

If you like RPing elves or edgelords I am sure you will have a grand old time.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention Boralus!

Boralus really has been huge boon to the Alliance RP community.
