How is 2h fury warrior fun wise?

I might dip my toe, is it a fun spec? What are the strengths and weakness as apposed to dual wield.

its basically the same as 1h, dps is about the same too. On short fights where youre buffed with death wish the entire time youre top half dps but still lose to a bunch of classes, including hybrids (at the 90th percentile) and on longer fights youre in the bottom half. Low utility, tools, and survivability, just like 1h. Entirely reliant on raid and WORLD buffs to achieve the above numbers by the way. Without raid/world buffs you literally do 1/3rd the dmg of a priest that ties your dps w/ buffs in sims with the same settings.

Better than arms though that does around half of everyone else’s damage. Week 1 AQ dps warrior is basically at the very bottom of overall dps and doesn’t gain much dps this phase.

Season of dont play warrior. Play a Ret or a 2h hunter instead if you like the 2h playstyle. You do significantly more dps while also hitting way harder + you have a bunch of tools that make you a lot harder to kill.

To be honest Warrior in general is more fun in Vanilla. It’s not really 2H vs 1H. It’s more the mandatory stance dancing and huge reliance on tier set bonuses in SoD.

You do the stance dancing because you have to but its clunky.

Also, an example of reliance on set bonuses: you will need 4 pc AQ gear before you can get out of wearing 6 pc BWL gear due to the 10% flat damage and crit set bonus being so good. Even then you will go 4pc AQ and 4 pc BWL. You dont get to use all AQ gear due to set bonuses. Clunky.

I would think the overpower procs would allow for a natural stance dance bonus.

I’ve been playing it all of SoD and I think it’s enjoyable. You just prioritize Bloodthirst and Overpower, while hitting Slam procs, and then filling with Quick Strike and Heroic Strike. Very simple. The Core Forged set adds complications with the Stance Dance, but you just hit it every 15 seconds and forget about it, and it does give you the benefit of being able to use all your abilities in Berserker Stance, so you don’t have to worry about Overpower’s stance requirement. Eventually, you will replace the Core Forged set with the new AQ 2.5 set, and use the Draconic 4pc with that. Then you don’t need to Stance Dance anymore and can just sit in Battle Stance and do your rotation, only swapping to Berserker to pop Reck and use Whirlwind for cleave moments. I’ve got a few 100 parses with it now and then, so it’s fully competitive with DW.
