How important is Orc clan identity in the current Horde?

Like the question above, how important is Clan loyalty in the modern day Horde for Orcs?

Do Orcs still identify themselves as either Warsong, Frostwolf etc first and then as Horde second, or has the massive population loss that the Orcs have suffered in the non-stop wars and calamities since the destruction of Draenor and perpetual wars with humans, orcs, night elves, Garrosh’s civil war, quilboars, twilight hammer, centaurs, harpies, scourge and legion left so few Orcs left that they now identify as a single large clan, I.E. the Horde?

There doesn’t seem like there’s much mention of clan alignment for the Orcs left within the boundaries of the current Horde. What do you guys think?

are you green or brown? That’s about all that matters at the moment.

Among the Horde’s MU orcs the only clans that seem to still identify as such are the Warsongs and Frostwolves, along with the more recently annexed Dragonmaws and Blackrocks, as they still live in singularly distinct geographical regions apart from the general orc population, though it’s not entirely clear what proportion of the latter two clans defected to Garrosh during WoD and how many still consider themselves part of the current Horde.

Most other clan associations among Azeroth’s orcs vanished due to them being split up without regard for clan divisions and then intermixed at the internment camps after the Second War.

It can be implied that a significant portion of the Dragonman still swear allegiance to the Horde. Horde chars who achieved pretige pvp 1 get awarded by Sylvanas in front of Horde leaders, one of them including the leader of the Dragonmaw since Zaela was killed off. One can speculate that the rest of the Dark Horde Blackrocks are also with the Horde.

I think the culture of the MU Blackrock, even with the rest of their clan joining between Cata/MOP, has not been shown to be distinct enough to differentiate themselves from the MU Orcs. They’re just more refugees.

Personally, I think the clan dynamic should solely be a Mag’har focus. The current Horde was built on not having clan division get in the way of the future of the MU Orc race.

Also, don’t get too hopped up on population numbers. They don’t exist. The best way to count how well a race is doing is by counting the number of important characters they are presenting.

Not important enough, Orc clans need to return in a big way. Bleeding hollow, Blackrock, Shattered Hand, Warsong, Frostwolf, Thunderlord, Dragonmaw. Orcs need their identity back.
