How I understand Warbands - please correct me

The warband shares things like transmog pickup and achievements, meaning that if I have 50 wins in AV on one toon, and 50 wins on another (in the warband) then I get the achievement?

And there are 4 slots for a warband?

Therefore, it just makes sense to:

  1. Pick a class from each armor type
  2. Pick around goals (e.g. I heal, but I want PVP achievements, so take a rogue in one slot)
  3. Regardless of how much you play both factions, it seems wise to put at least one toon from the other faction in your warband.

Anyone else plotting out their warband?

Warbands are an account wide thing. Where are you getting four character limit?

Warbands include ALL characters on your account not just 4.

the visualization of it probably, but that’s just for a pretty splash screen in the character select menu.

The 4 characters thing is literally just picking who you want to appear on the login screen, it has no bearing mechanically since every character you have is part of the Warband.

It should be four regular characters, but up two eight if you have all Gnomes, Goblins or Vulpera.

Warbands are all of your characters. The starting screen is only four of your characters. Warbands are just the lift of restrictions on alts. You can unlock things for alts, share a bank with alts and even mail things to alts on other servers. Rep will slowly become account wide, and flight paths will be unlocked on alts.

im just worried about the loot/rng , because if some one has 100 char and they all have diff ger mail, cloth, leather plate… how is tht going to translate in loot ?? are they going to just going to break open all the loot table an we can go wild or what>??? and how does the rng going to come to play in all of this??

I honestly feel like as cool as the special new character select screen looks. They should of delayed that for a patch after the initial warband thing releases just to avoid confusion lol.

Warbands is account bound, meaning every single character on the account you logged into is a Warband. However getting the character cap limit of 50 characters all sitting / standing around on the log-in screen seems like nightmare fuel for the devs and no matter what they do it isn’t going to look good. So you the player will choose up to a specific amount (could be 4, could be 8) of characters to show up in your warband, maybe you’ll have different log in screens of characters depending on what you pick.

Warbands are “account-wide everything”, though some items will take longer to make account-wide than others (such as reputations from previous expansions).

Only exceptions they’ve ever mentioned are some very few, very specific achievements, but all achievements will otherwise be transforming into account-wide achievements (eventually).

I don’t follow. What would change about loot?

gear is account wide too ??? is that correct or no ?

Not all gear.

My characters get to hang around a campfire together. I’d buy the expac just for that.

Every character on you account regardless of realm will be in warband.

4 characters on selection screens are one you pick as showcase, but you still have access to all toons on your account.

Everything is account wide,

Only Warbound gear will be account wide. But warbound is endgame gear, all other gear like transmog is account wide. You will be able to add plate . mail , leather and cloth transmogs with your shaman. Right now you can only add cosmetics and mail as shaman,

Cloth wearers can loot Plate now for Transmog, even though they can’t equip it.

Kept as is, if you think the fury over loot rolls in LFR are bad now with folks rolling on transmog, wait until this kicks in.

You still can’t roll need on plate if you can’t wear or use plate. Or you can’t roll need for cloth, leather or mail if you’re warrior , DK or paladin

Not all. Only some. It’s the same way it is now. Some is BoA now. That’ll change the name from BoA to Warbound. That’s all.

That’s not what he was talking about, but yes, transmog is going to be so much nicer now.
