Moved here from California in 2019 after having lived there for 17 years, and yeah I hear you. I’m enjoying every drop of rain.
I don’t know the actual temperature… but it’s been so hot recently that the mosquitoes don’t even want to play in the shade.
It’s been kind of nice for when I have to go out and get my vitamin D.
Stares at sky
Y’know the 4th is coming up here pretty soon. You really should rain now so that the State doesn’t catch on fire in a few days.
Yeah that part has me real worried. My neighbors have a bunch of dead trees that will go up like kindling if they are hit by the neighborhood kids’ fireworks.
80F (26.5C) here at almost mid-morning in So. California and on its way to 103F (39.4C). Offers blessings and a significant sacrifice of savings to the sprites of AC.
Yikes, may not be a bad idea to pre-position the garden hoses just in case.
I plan on it. But I live out in the country so the fire department wouldn’t get here before my house could burn down.
My answer is complex, as I was born/raised in Annapolis/Baltimore where it’s hot. Very hot and humid, and never really liked the heat. I now live in central NY and love the temps here. I have Epilepsy and Dystonia, which are heat intolerant; so I can’t go back to the south to live. Where I am, it rarely gets above 80 in summer, but the last two days have been 90’s.
Another NY’r! /wave
Same here in the middle of NY, about 67 F, but 85% humidity. Ugh…you can scoop the air in a cup.
Phoenix was 105 - been in the 103 to 108… and now we’re headed for the worst of it. The over 110- 115. That dry heat myth vanishes after 105
H town here also.
My grass is crispy brown and dead.
My dad was stationed in Mississippi for a short time in the Air Force, he has long said that “if the world needed to have an enema, they would shove the tube in Mississippi!” he talked about the heat and humidity and said night was even worse, as the pressure changed and it would squeeze the moisture out of the air and everything would be wet, all night long.
As of now,84 with 37 humidity ,thank God some relief.
It’s been running 4-8 degrees cooler than average and well below the record temps (Western Ohio River Valley) for weeks. Beautiful weather. I wish it would stay like this all year.
I posted a comment to that effect on my FB page and immediately got a “fact check” attached to it with a link to “inform” me of how much hotter it was here than it has been historically.
SMFH
Clearly he never spent a summer in Houston.
Ever do the “bake cookies on your dashboard” trick?
I did once when I live in TX just so I could say I did.
You can cook on your drive home too !
Afraid not. I don’t have a vehicle since I cannot see to drive and surrendered my drivers license in 2015.
89 for me! Coolest it’s been! I miss winter!
Though when winter comes i’ll be praying for summer! XD
We’re looking at the roughly same temperature here in Northern California, but time zones dictate it won’t reach that heat for a few more hours.
