I’m a little confused in this weeks title rewards. The first week honor came out I gained roughly 8k, and was awarded Sergeant (rank 3). This week I gained 25k, which I thought would put me at Rank 7 (25k Honor) at least, but only went up one rank (Rank 4).
Are previous weeks not calculated together in total honor?
Is there any known formula on how its calculated?
You get so much RP based on your standing on your faction. The higher the bracket, the more RP. You are competing with your own faction for the most honor to rank up the fastest. You earn 13K RP(I think) for being in the top 0.5% of the server population on your faction, and the RP earned goes down from there.
There is also a 20% decay of RP per week so, each week it gets harder and harder to rank up as well as maintain rank. You have to get high enough to offset the RP decay, as well as beat everyone else doing the same thing.
This is probably not 100% accurate, but I think its close enough to get why you didn’t get rank 7.
It takes a minimum of 12 weeks being in the top 0.5% of the server the whole time to get to rank 14.
The honor farming also gets harder as you go because the higher rank you are, the less honor you earn from the opposite factions players that are a lower rank than you. So you have to search out people closer to your rank.

im not gona write you a wall of text , so i invite you to check some youtube videos that go in dept on how the honor system works.
its somewhat simple yet tedious to explain
lets say you need 1k for rank 2 , 4k for rank 3 , 10k for rank 4 , 25k for rank 5
and so on , it increases exponentially and you have a 20% decay per week on what you have

Each rank requires a minimum amount of rating points to be calulated every week then calculated in comparison to other players on your server
First of all the honor shown on your char, is not the honor you truly gained. There is a system called “diminishing returns” which deducts 25% honor from each kill until the 5th kill of the same target results in 0 honor. This resets daily.
That being said, the result of that calculation is compared to everyone else on your own server (faction based).
Since there is a specific percentage of players within each rank max, you are placed based on your results. But there is also a maximum amount of ranking points, that you can gain each week. For example, from 13 to 14, you must play at least three weeks and come within the top 4 to advance.

Every week your honor resets, it doesn’t Matter how much honor you gained last week.
You get a certain amount of rank points depending on how much honor you gained each week compared to everyone else on your Faction.
Grinding 200k honor is pointless if the guy in 2nd place only gained 150k honor, the amount you rank up is purely based on comparing how much honor you gained vs how much everyone else gained and is then reset every week, the actual amount of honor is meaningless, you just need to have the most
Depends on what position you are in, for example I oonly had about 3000 honor I was ranked to Corporal, in that tab it also shows my position compared to other players.
Mine was 410, I am hoping when I get home I ranked again and am in the top 300 players hopefully.
You’re confusing honor with rank points. You need 25k total ranking points to get into rank 7, not 25k weekly honor. Your rank points per week is based on your total standing for your faction, so if you got rank 3 last week you earned between 5k-9k rank points after the decay.
So basically, there is no jumping ranks unless you earn 3-4x+ the amount of everyone else in your faction, despite your total honor?
If majority of the people are gaining 15-20k per week, that means I need to be getting 40k+ to make any type of leaps and bound?

ive had to play 18 hours a day this week to stay in bracket 1 and get rank 6… its not that ez to go sit in kargath or SS and farm a few hks
You don’t have to double or triple them, you just have to get 1 more than the next guy technically. The rank points are given out in brackets so depending on your final standing for the week it will put you in a bracket that allocates the amount of rank points you get. If you get 7k rank point per week (not honor) you will hit rank 10 (40k rank points) in 6 weeks as an example.
Who said I sit in SS or Kargath? Especially being a visible class you cant really sit anywhere before you get over ran and body camped. Plus I’m sure SS has been dead since week 1 for Alliance.
just when you said “8k” honor and im killing myself to farm 20+k a day… its just kinda laughable, and no you cannot jump past rank 6 this week and thats being in bracket 1.

Simply put, you are judged based off everyone else’s honor per week. If caps are high and you get 8k it won’t go as far as it would on a week caps are low. It’s all relative from week to week.

Plus I doubt you’re getting 20k honor a day in classic like you’re claiming. Your retail character stats doesn’t even come close to mirroring those types of skills. 2900 HK’s, I have that on classic and its been less than 2 weeks of honor.
im at 5300 hks on classic.
