How have we not addressed the giant sword yet?

Serious question. It’s almost the end of the expansion and yet despite all of our battling and fussing about with the old gods we still somehow haven’t done anything to try and pull/dig out/ cut apart the massive sword stuck in Silithus… Shouldn’t it be like having an effect of the planets rotation or something like that? I honestly expected it to have more of a focus in the story by now.

I know Magni and mother have been going on and on with azerite, but you could still do that after the sword is gone… Could probably smelt some sweet weapons from it too.

What do you guys think? When will we take action on this / how and what will we do?

It is rather unfortunate Blizz has other things getting in the way of dealing with that pesky sword.

I figured they’d just leave it there so that the void lords could have an AzerothPop once they finally break through.

I assume Azeroth wakes up in 8.3.5 and just… pulls it out. :man_shrugging:

I say they should leave it as a monument to failure.

Would be nice in my dotage to be able to fly the scrubs out there and point to it “See that planet scale rectal thermometer right there? Let me tell you about the dark times in Azeroth”

It’s not an easy solution. Through the Heart and gathering azerite we’ve been healing the world-soul internally so I don’t think she’s really dying anymore.

But the sword is huge. We can’t even begin the logistics of trying to remove it, there’s no device on Azeroth capable of pulling it out. If we even could damage it then it might fall and crush half of Kalimdor. And where would we even put the thing? It’s almost better to just leave it there for now.

BfA isn’t over yet, there’s still 8.3.5 so maybe it’ll be addressed. But the titan isn’t in mortal danger at the moment so it’s likely just going to stay there as a souvenir of Legion. Or we could free Sargeras and he can come take it back, problem solved!

Azeroth pulls it.
Purifies it with Azerite.
Swings and shoots a wave, vaporizing N’zoth.
Turns to the player character.
“It truly was a Battle for Azeroth.”
11/10 expansion.

This is a better story that what we got.

Will probably stay there and never be fixed, just going off their history. I mean, most of the things from cataclysm never got fixed.

Cant we ask one of those titan people to remove it? Don’t some of them like us?Sort of… Otherwise just keep it decorated year round like a Christmas tree!

I imagine when we finally get around to the Void, the rest of the Pantheon will point out how we’re capable of going up against it and Sargeras will be persuaded, come back, take his sword, and fight the Void with us.

I wouldn’t even begin to know how to address a giant sword. But the more important question is, why? Will it answer us when we address it?

It’s not a sword, it’s a large toothpick. Azeroth is a skewered onion floating in a cosmic Martini. If you remove the toothpick, we all either drown, or get chewed up.

Leave it be.

I’m assuming it’s like one of those turkey thermometers and the bulb on the handle will pop-up once Azeroth is ready. An entire patch will center around the event as a part of the Harvest Festival. Or a baby shower. Possibly both.

We’re waiting for another one to show up so that the fury warriors have something to dual wield.

Unfortunately we’ve already seen in-game cinematics showing players firing the N’Zoth vaporizing beam of whatever. This does sound better though.

If Azeroth wakes up, we no longer have a planet to live on…

Look at Argus. The worldsoul is distinct from the world.

Maybe Sargeras wants his sword back? He could just…y’know… pull it out. lol
