Was he still tough? Im looking foward to this fight
He was no longer mathemetically impossible.
dps check on the tentis. If people have the gear and aint dumb then no. If dumb then yes…lol
Still hard, but not literally impossible about sums it up. Mario 8-1 is hard compared to 1-1 but it’s still easy.
Vanilla raiding is mostly a gear check and having 40 people with half a brain.
So no, it’s really not that difficult.
It wasn’t a “nerf,” but a hotfix. The encounter was bugged and impossible. It caused a handful of big-name guilds to implode, iirc, before Blizzard admitted the boo-boo.
Following the fix, it was dead hours after reset.
Nobody’s going to know till it’s out, and with how upset people are over how ‘‘easy’’ the beta is i feel their going to be dissappointed by how easy it will be.
Honestly sounds like thats something im gonna dig. Take a break from heroic raiding and sit back and enjoy some gear check fights!
It’s a different kind of difficult. it will be rather fun, i still enjoy modern fights but they’re more like a waltz where as classic raiding is more like a mosh pit.
I still remember getting zapped to death outside the fight area at the beginning of the fight. lol
Remember to farm Frost weapon for an optional boss in AQ40.
We may or may not have trolled many a pug with C-thun in my guild.
Those 20minute run backs
A lot of Vanilla-era fights were gear checks. Magmadar and Vael the Corrupt are two big ones off the top of my head. Some fights were skill checks, like Lucifron, Chromaggus, and Jindo. Yet others combined the two, such as the bug family and the drakes in BWL.
i could be wrong but i thought the problem with C-thun is that he was mathematically possible but required perfect performance, near BIS gear on most dps and also good rng.
It’s literally impossible to give concrete answers to things like this since it was 15 years ago and very very few videos are around of those times, and the ones that are are such low quality that nothing can really be gotten from them.
C’Thun eats random people and they have to fight their way out of its stomach. The whole time they are taking increasing acid damage. This was supposed to be it. The bug caused its tentacles to target players in the stomach as opposed to just those on the outside, meaning the stomach players took random burst damage. It was unhealable and basically was akin to C’Thun killing a few players every time it devoured a new group.
< insert packman noise>
Probably the 4th most difficult fight to execute in vanilla, after Gothik the Harvester, the Four Horsemen and Kel’Thuzad.
Tricky points are the initial pull not getting the whole raid killed to eye beam chains while getting in position, making sure mind flay/hamstring from the little tentacles don’t cause deaths during dark glare, not missing any interrupts on large eye tentacles and timing exit from the stomach properly.
Probably the 6th toughest dps check in vanilla, after Thaddius, Gluth, Gothik the Harvester, Loatheb and Kel’Thuzad.
That’s just a matter of keeping up with tentacle spawns.
Mind you, if you go in with world buffs/flasks (flasks are much stronger in vanilla) stack a ton of elixirs and use various random consumables there are no tough dps checks in vanilla. Stuff you see on private servers that basically no one did back in 2006.
Is the four horseman apart of the scourge invasion in part 6?
It’s part of naxx last boss of the…military? quarter…it’s been a while.
