How hard it is it to get to 1400 rating?

From this set all I really want is that belt piece and I thought at first that to obtain this set that a minimum of rating 2400 in pvp was required so I never bothered. Then I noticed this:

Which seems a lot more doable, but the highest rating I’ve ever had in the history of my playing wow was around 950 on my hunter for 2v2 back in WOD. The character in question that I may want to attempt this on is my elemental shaman Evablossom. I will post that character in a moment. Things to know:

  1. My ele shaman is currently using a lot of stacked haste.
  2. I have all essences unlocked, but the pvp ones are only rank 1 right now.
  3. Eva is currently 471 ilevel and using the meta dps azerite traits for shamans. I have 3 igneous on each azerite armor piece.
  4. I have about 4 sockets unlocked and will be able to afford more soon.

The relevant character in question I would attempt this with.

1400 is quite literally the free rating that you’ll eventually get from winning enough games. You can’t lose rating below that amount IIRC

So easy, you don’t lose any rating till you’re over 1500.

Run 2s with a healer would probably be easiest for you, since it sounds you don’t pvp much.

Make a lfg basically saying “ learning ele or new to arena LF healer” something along those lines.

Just spam que games until you hit rating.

Thank you both for the info. I am definitely going to try to get it before bfa is over.

Icy veins has a pvp guide for ele shaman if you’re looking for talent suggestions etc.

From my experience, you don’t lose rating under 1000. You can lose rating between 1000 and 1400.

I got it on my druid with integrated graphics, 7-24 fps on my old laptop.

I think you’ll do fine.

1600 is where everyone can get without thinking and just face rolling their keyboards, 1800 requires bare minimum thought and 2400 requires actual thinking and coordinating cds. With that said, healers are over powered and mages+rogues dominate 2s at low levels and will be a wall you’ll hit when doing 2s =P

Update. And here I was thinking this would take me many days of lots of complex practicing and stuff. Nope. I actually got all the way up to 1623 in less than half a day. I may even be able to push to 1800 with a bit of practice.

I decided to roll resto shaman and found it to be much easier. My survivablity was better. I could dispell stuff, heal teammates and had more available cc. Thank everyone for the advice. It really helped.

So I have another question. What about the red red tinted gladiators appearances? I looked on wowhead and saw them, but it didn’t say what was required to get them.

You get the “elite set” at 1400/1600/1800. You get the enchant/cloak at 2100 and the tabard at 2400. You cannot get the elite sets from previous seasons.

Going 0-1000 felt like beating up preschoolers tbh. I helped my wife’s demon hunter get 1400 for the essence and we were up against like fresh 120s and half afk people.

It is so doable that Wild was able to do it. I’ve seen people get to 2000 rating with 35% win rates, you just have to keep trying!

Gratz on your work so far, I hope you keep pushing!

Win rate % means nothing.

That’s awesome! Maybe I should try it again but as holy instead of ret?

1400 isn’t bad at all, besides, you can always pay people to carry you if you have the gold. But, what can’t gold buy in WoW?

I didn’t even have to pay anyone. All I did was start a group. Said"Grinding to 1400. Learning elemental shaman. Within about 5 minutes a 2000+ rated rogue showed up and said they would happily carry me to 1400 and then when we got there he decided to help me to 1600. Took at the most 5 hours and maybe about 24 wins. If it was this easy to get to 1400, getting to 2100 doesn’t seem all that undoable. However I don’t gain as much rating now and losses do take away points, so it wouldn’t be completely braindead.

Correction. I forgot to specify. What about the elite weapon appearances specifically. I saw nothing about what rating those are awarded on wowhead.
