How hard is it to solo Legion raids?

Is it doable, and is loot semi ok or just pathetic?

Mythic is hit or miss on some bosses but to my knowledge heroic and below is doable. Legacy loot is on so it doesn’t take too long, but have fun with selling 5000 relics.

Some are impossible to solo due to mechanics on mythic

I’ve done every Legion Heroic/Mythic boss that’s listed on my page alone. If you look at my character’s raid progression, the heroic and mythic ones are the ones that I’ve been able to solo as a hunter. I didn’t do the last legion raid because I didn’t like the whole Argus thing they were doing, so it might be soloable but I am not sure.

Hugs and love!

Mythic is semi-cake even on undergeared alts thru (most of) Nighthold IMO.

After that, not sure, haven’t bothered because I haven’t wanted anything from it.

If you can meet the dps check for mythic nythendra, then the emerald nightmare is soloable on mythic.

The nighthold is a similar issue there are some DPS check points.

Anything after that becomes a struggle.

But the reality is you need 2 ppl for Emerald nightmare. 2-3 for the Nighthold, ToS 3-4 and Antorus 4-5.

Create a group (exclude players of your armour set  ) and just make sure they are max lvl and have a okay ilvl

What ilvl do you really need to be to be successful? I’m coming back from a year break and all my guys are in the high 300s mostly

edit: i just rolled a warlock and hit 120 a minute ago, and want to try to farm for some of the xmogs

If you spend like 1 hour doing world quests you can easily nett 6-7 ilvl 410 welfare pieces.

I’m just going to come back when I’m 60 :man_shrugging:

Unlock Nazjatar and after you do the quest to go to Highmountain in Legion and come back you’ll get another quest to upgrade a piece of benthic gear, don’t upgrade, buy more benthic gear instead :+1: My fresh 120s are usually around 390 by the time I finish unlocking Naz, then relog so your WQ rewards scale up and do the ones you need for upgrades. I think next week is timewalking so you’ll be able to get some more 410/425 pieces as well.

To be clear, my definition of “undergeared alt” from my earlier post was like… 430 ilvl. Since boosted toons start at 390ish, the 8.3 questline + doing a few emissaries gets you to somewhere around that level really quickly (from the starting point of a boosted toon). Gravy if you do the Timewalking or Mythic 0 Dungeon Quests when they’re up.

Keep in mind strongly geared mains at this point are like… 475-480ish ilvl.

Mythic EN is probably able to be soloed. Did it with a friend a few weeks back and we didn’t really have any problems from start to finish. Nighthold though…that was the stuff of nightmares. We had it pretty rough from the courtyard on and had to skip a couple bosses near the end, so we went straight to Elisandre to Gul’dan. Eli was fine, but Gul’dan was just awful. Wiped once there and left.

Went into Antorus with the same friend and another, and we managed to kill the Garothi, Felhounds and Antoran High Command. Then we went to Portal Keeper and ended up skipping Eonar. That simply wasn’t gonna happen. Then Imonar ripped us apart. I haven’t tried skipping to the end solo on mythic, but I can’t imagine it being too easy. Honestly, not even sure if I could take on most of the bosses alone there yet.

Normal modes though? I would think they would be mostly doable, even in Antorus, maybe heroic, aside from a couple bosses (Eonar and Imonar come to mind mostly).

You could probably do EN and some of Nighthold (maybe?) in the high 300s, ive been able to do all raids on mythic, except guldaddy, as dh since about 460 ilvl. Not going to attempt mythic antorus solo.

As a warlock, once you get to about 440 and youre able to pump decent numbers, you should be able to solo probably everything except mythic antorus, guldan and KJ.

Emerald Nightmare and Nighthold are doable solo, although, without good burst, you might need help on Gul’dan. I’ve also heard that Helya is still rough.

Eonar still can’t be soloed, and Kil’jaeden is still very, very difficult.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Gonna try to gear up a bit first i suppose.

it was technically soloable.

A soloist did clear it. But…it took many hours. Why I say technically soloable. It is. if you want to spend 4-6 hours doing it (forgot the exact run time but it was looong as hell and closer to 6 hours I want to say).

This was before corruption so not sure how much better the run time would be.

I frequently do N-HC-M on all the raids up to Nighthold. I usually grab some help with Gul’dan. Then I can do N and most of HC on Tomb. So it’s not too bad. The loot for vendoring is not bad either, I haven’t got exact numbers but it’s comparable or higher to WoD raids and you get neat transmog.

Helya is a pushover.

best if you have a mobile class to speed up the tenacle kills. She makes you walk, duck and move a fair bit as I recall.

I decided to do the LFR tier 20 for the set, got lucky and picked up three pieces from all 4 wings. Other than a few mechanical things it was absolute cake, I started out trying mythic but realized I had none of the legion quests it needed, I did beat one boss though, it was considerably harder but still doable.

Demon hunter needs more fel-themed gear. I’m still mostly wearing mogs from the noob zone because it never really gets any better if you want themed armor.

Only thing was the waves that push you back a bit, but when you kill the tentacles in 1-2 hits its nbd.
