How hard is (enh) shaman leveling?

I dunno, nothing to do on main outside of farming gold until they fix premades (probably never) and i want something with big epic weapon that isn’t warrior

I have 60 shadow priest and warlock, they’ve been super easy and comfortable at every stage of leveling

It’s riveting fun. I used 1 hand and hield most of the way. And as long as I wasn’t getting ganked or attacked, i could pull 2-3 same level mobs at a time. I used 2h for clothies whether they’re NPCs or Players.

To me enhance was exactly like shadow priest. Boring. At 43 I decided to try ele and though you drink a lot you blow everything up being able to LB+Shock crits every few mins.

It’s pretty easy. Plus you get ghost wolf for faster travel early on.

Level as enhancement until 40. Switch to Elemental. Never look back.

Elemental Mastery + Limited Invulnerability Potion makes you an unattackable Thundergod capable of unironically globalling someone from 100-0 once you learn how to game batching for a double crit with CL + Shock. And when you kill someone from 100% that fast… they give you a wide berth in the future.

Elemental is also AMAZINGLY fun. The main drawback is sustain. You have none. Take up fishing/cooking and make your own nightfins to save money. Herb/Alch if you wanna save on Mana pots/Mageblood pots too. Alternatively, engineering for grenades to extend your window to murder people at higher levels of gear or to make 1vXs possible. Without Elemental Mastery available the spec relies on random dirtbag crits to kill. You get +11% with LB/CL just from talents and a lot of your preferred gear carries crit. Even without EM comboing people you’ll find yourself staring at a smoking crater where a mob or enemy player used to be standing.

3.5 gold just to kill someone? I’d rather lose for free

anyway, i already have warlock and SP to play as caster. Windfury just seems fun

Imagine being poor.

Shaman leveling is a lot like pally which is a lot like priest. Frontload spells/fire totem, autoattack down the rest while maximizing regen during the 5 second rule. Heal up or bandage when needed. If you have a mage feeding you water ele is like inefficient mage leveling because no real aoe. Blow stuff up in bursts and then drink.

Easy. Improved ghost wolf at 20. While you won’t typically nuke mobs, lightning shield, flame shock and stoneskin, healing stream and searing totem all make very efficient use of mana. 1h + shield is best solo unless you are multiple levels ahead of the non-elite mobs you’re fighting, then 2h it up.

Stormstrike is great for dungeons once you have WF and can save your skin in deadly solo situations, but be sure to spec out of it once you hit 60 as you can’t use it in nearly every raid group. SS + Earth Shock will straight-up pull threat on a mob in a dungeon but the idea is that it will burst it down as well. Nova totem is a great chunk of AoE in dungeons. Learn Chain Lightning for dungeon pulls and pulling multiple mobs solo; it’s still great to have despite being enh.

Man, you don’t know how to play the game.

You don’t craft your own stuff. You make a mage. Farm gold, then buy what you need. Almost always better value for your time spent playing. People who fish their own nightfins are playing the game wrong.

This is literally word for word about what it feels like.

Though I do miss playing enhance. That taught me how to heal without being specced for it during dungeons.

Using professions like fishing is playing the game wrong?

Not as easy as priest. Never played warlock.

Priest shield and regen is really op.

It’s the easiest, because it’s the most fun.

Enhance isn’t bad past level 40 if you continuously pull. I prefer earthbind kiting with a 2h over the 1h and shield style. You can trade a hit per hit while kiting.
