How hard are timewalking raids?

Never done one before but apparently the box from the quest has a really good chance to drop mounts, so I wanna try one. How hard are they? Do I actually need to know mechanics?

I don’t know, I never tried it.

Well, based on my first group I joined, the answer is yes. Definitely yes :eye: :lips: :eye:

We appreciate the post-timewalking sortie brief, airman Zigstur

They can be trying as you level and gear are reduced and their affects need to be countered, they can be hard.

I remember doing tbc TW raid to get warglaive xmog achievement. We wiped on illidan like 3-4 times due to mechanics. So yeah they aren’t faceroll but if people know what to do and some people have TW gearsets it can be made easier.

That has nothing to do with it, they are harder because they have mechanics people don’t do, and in some of the older raids taunt does nothing because it never existed back than.

The TW raids are nothing like the TW dungeons, in the dungeons you can face roll like 80% of them, as in you can literally press W in most TW dungeons and have no issues, but in the raids you need people to actually do mechanics and most people just flat out refuse to do mechanics in older content.

Just… what? Taunt has always existed. Taunt swapping has been a key tank mechanic since Vanilla.

The last TW raid I done was BC, I was pulling aggro as a DPS and the tanks taunt did taunt did nothing.

Some bosses are immune to Taunt. It’s not that it didn’t exist.

Well there you go, sorry I haven’t done classic in what, 18 years.

Point is though back than and even now, those raids needed mechanics done more than we have now.

You can almost forget mechanics these days in normal equivalent content.

Fairly easy. The armor scales fairly well.

I would look up some mechanics just to be safe but first boss just no tar and you can zug zug boss (you’ll know what I’m talking about if you get a motorcycle).

Trying to think of anything else. Last boss if he casts the laughing ability that zaps (I forget what it’s called) put your back to the zap and face away from him. There is a sanity mechanic.

But it’s fairly easy.

Hard enough that you can’t just ignore the mechanics. Just TRY to do mechanics and you should be perfectly fine.

if the tank hits a button every few minutes, the other four party members can AFK and you will still beat a timewalking dungeon

We’re talking about the raids, dude. Not the dungeons. This does not work in the TW raids.

You know, I did exactly one, and the Raid Leader made it very good. I pugged into it, and he ran it well. I think I lucked into an organized pug group.

Without a good lead, it has the potential for ruin, if people actively Troll.

I was leery about it, yet when I I did one to gear an Alt, It went really well. But I think it was fluke.

As far as I know taunt has always worked in old raids and was needed due to mechanics. Molten core for example you had to taunt the first boss and try not to be cursed (which always I died to) :pensive: yeah,I learned the hard way.sigh.

If both of the two tanks hit a button every few minutes, the other 20+ raid members can AFK and you will still beat a timewalking raid.

There’s always one boss immune to taunting ,plus at some times blizzard would do something to nerf it.

Nope. Vezax, Yogg, Flame Leviathan, Supremus, Illidan, and several others WILL NOT LET YOU DO THAT. You do the mechanics or you die. It’s just that simple.
