How global achievement points work

I always heard that global achievements (i.e. the “blue” ones) are credited for all characters (example: “got my mind on my money”). The tooltip even says “all of your characters have credit for completing this achievement”.

I recently created a Demon Hunter and it started off with 140 achievement points: 100 for being above level 90 and 40 for the riding skill achievements. My question: why I am not being awarded with the points from all the global achievements i got with my main?

I know the guild tab only shows character only achievements, thats why it is showing only 140. But since global achievements are awarded in ALL characters, shouldnt my demon hunter have the 140 personal (level + riding) PLUS the global achievements?
And worse, if i need to get those achievements again on every character for the points to show on the guild tab, how I am suposed to track my progress if they show as completed?

Other examples: 3000 quests achievements, loremaster, 2500 daily quests, etc.

Thanks in advance for all replies!

Update: even global achievements I cannot earn again are NOT counting for the points that appear for my character on guild roster tab.
For example, the “fashionistas” achievement, or the Traveler Thundra’s Mammoth achievement.
All characters i create start up with the mount, but the points do not show.

So what I can conclude is that they never show for any character in guild panel.

the blue achievements are achievements where you can make progress across characters. regular achievements, you cannot.

e.g.
100 honorable kills, you have to get all 100 on one character.
50000 hks, all kills across characters contribute. side note, it’s theoretically possible to get the 50000 hks before you get 100 kills on a single character.

meta achievements are often blue, like pathfinder

as to the points, no one knows how it works but I wouldnt fret it, people wont think less of you if you have a few hundred less than you ‘deserve’
