How fast will raid content be cleared in classic? Of course in vanilla it took up to months for a raid to be cleared after being released, but they were running on different content patches and people were obviously worse at the game. On private servers today, people blaze through content like it’s normal mode.
In classic we will:
- Be playing on the 1.12 patch, mostly free of bugs and major balance issues
- Most of the player base will understand the game as opposed to 2005
- The most hardcore players have had access to the raids on private servers for the last 12 years
I am willing to bet that each raid will be cleared within the first day of release with no problem. Ragernos/Onyxia are the only ones that won’t be cleared day 1 due to people having to level, but i’m still sure there will be at least 1 guild to clear them on week 1 or 2 of launch.
What do you guys think?

It will take so long just to lvl to 60. The challenge is getting so many people to 60. Also getting intro raid gear isn’t easy either.
I don’t think it will be cleared within the first day of release.
While not on the same level of mythic raids, mythic raids are not cleared within their first day I suspect raids might need a week or two for the gear to drop. Let’s not forget each boss will only drop 2 pieces of gear.
Yeah for most people, but there will be a minority of hardcore players which will hit 60 in the first week.
I think content will be cleared just as fast as you estimate. Pserver guilds clear all in first week with the reduced stats on items due to progressive itemization. Also more recently most pservers put a block on world buffs for raid releases, which classic wont. So on classic we’ll have better gear and world buffs. Content will get shredded.
MC/Ony will fall within a week of enough players being 60.

Well the world record to 60 is like 4 days so if someone clears it on day one, kudos.
It’s literally impossible to get to 60 in a day. This has got to be a joke post.
That’s 4 days played, resting for full bonus xp. Not 4 literal days.

Clearly the OP is specifically talking about only about raids and outlines the first raids will be done after people get level 60 which he thinks well be in a week.

Did you guys even read my post? I said with the exclusion of MC and ONY since it takes up to 2 weeks to level to 60.

90% chance rag dies day 6 or 7. 100% chance by day 8 or 9.
BWL within 2-3 hours, AQ within 3-5 hours, naxx within 3-5 hours.

Given that we already know everything about these raids, I suspect the same as the OP that every raid will be cleared day 1 by a cutting edge guild with the exception of launch raids.
Though I wont be surprised if Ragnaros goes down by the second week of Classic.
That is also only the very top guilds. The average raid group will take a lot longer than that.

Yeah i’m sure the “average” raiding population won’t get to rag/ony for a good 3 months after launch.

Didn’t read that far. I figured you had your thoughts in order. The only raids available at release are ony and rag. If you mean phases after, then you should have said so.

Day 1 Naxx will be cleared and WoW will implode on itself causing catastrophic destruction around the world.
The pserver guilds will down them within days of hitting 60.
They’ve been doing this for nearly a decade.
