Been regretting going Necrolord lately since destro turned out to be underwhelming so I swapped to aff. Now I’m toying with the idea of swapping to Night Fae but from what I understand I would have to restart renown and covenant buildings which kinda kills me since I just got enough souls to get the portal to Oribos. Is Night Fae far superior in terms of dps? I play pretty much all content pve/pvp. Necrolord ability feels unplayable or at least very inconvenient to use as aff in most situations. I wish the cast was shorter or it increased dot duration even by a few seconds just to actually be able to make use of the full drain soul.

For affliction there really is no alternative to Night Fae.

The kyrian dot is easier to maintain and decreases your burst windows to 45 seconds (PS), being definitely stronger for single target. Soul Rot is a remedy to our awful burst AoE and still works vs single target.
But if we add the 2nd skill, I think I get a lot more value out of a blink than the potion.

Night fae is not only more fun, but more useful in every way.
PvP and Pve, nightfae is goated for warlocks not only for the AoE dot that is soul rot, but the blink that allows us to move and reposition accordingly.
Also in PvP, I find the AoE drain life affect to be godly in some sense as it feels like the only window where my survivability feels decent (if im not spell locked that is)
Venthyr would be better if it applied Bane of Nightmare rather than curses in my opinion. Necrolord was just over nerfed which is sad because its synergy with drain soul seemed amazing. Kyrian always looked pretty lame and out of touch when it came to warlocks so I didnt even bother.
With full renown and my current gear :
I sim 4956 as NF
I sim 4530 as Venthyr
That’s a pretty big difference if you ask me. That’s around 10%. But since NF can unlock their 2nd conduit earlier the real difference right now is bigger than 10%. Probably closer top 13-15%. The fact Blizzard leaves this unchecked is highly disappointing.

Kyrian is fine for ST. Unfortunately we have a lot of cleave fights and soul rot takes the cake. Played around with kyrian and I kinda just like nightfae more, hence why I’m switching back
