So im sort of confused on this issue. There is a massive tree island and it gets burnt down. By one torch? Have there been any forest fires in there? Has nobody accidentally dropped a torch in darnassus? Why didnt the horde do this sooner? How did sylvanas burn it down if it had alot of magical defenses. One torch bruh
giant match.
Thats one of the most frustrating things about this whole story arc for me. Ok house gets burned down, bad things happen when you’re at war.
But the whole story’s been written so poorly that I feel bad even for the aggressors.
Fire. Fire burn tree down. Tree ash now. Elves also ash.
Need more tinder for the bonfire. Biggest ever seen.
I’m more curious how those Demolishers reached across the ocean to hit the tree in the first place.
It burned because plot. That’s all. Best not to think about it because otherwise your head might burst.
Edit/Addendum: Let’s be real here, Teld was a massive tree with a metric shiz tonne of moisture. That thing wouldn’t burn from 10 or so catapult rounds never mind the distance those catapults managed to magically fire.
And now NE players have an eternal excuse to whine about their homeland and use buzzwords like “genocide” and “murder.”
Damn sure murdered some leaves on Teldrassil!
Goblin artillery, firing Azerite-empowered ammnition. It was also a proof-of-concept for Azerite weaponry. The armaments were a new creation. No one had had the capacity to do this before Goblin engineering went to work with the Azerite.
That was the ENTIRE motive for the war in Battle for Azeroth. How did you manage to miss that?
Yeah… really not a well thought choice on the parts of the devs. People already complained about the treatment of certain species as it was. Never mind the loss of a city.
It wasn’t a single torch. She threw many many explosives at it via catapults. Keep that up long enough and eventually a fire’s going to catch. They may also have been laced with azerite.
A special magical one time only catapult system that reached a distance that would you have on a flying mount hearing the clarion sound of your mount getting tired…and possibly crashing into the ocean.
The plans for this catapult went to the same place the vindicaar and fel hammer went. Where that is if you find it let me know. I miss my my fel hammer. And my illidari army.
The better question is why didn’t all the druids already on Teldrassil / napping in Darnassus blanket the area with Tranquility? I remember that WC3 spell, it was a light rain. Multiply that by X druids and no more forest fire.
But again, Plot fires cannot be put out.
lol! Pretty much! Gods I hate the devs/writers so much when it comes to stuff like that.
If you aren’t going to use it again, don’t put it in!
Nope - Teldrassil has been in easy range of flying mounts since flying was allowed in Cataclysm, fatigue zone for swimmers notwithstanding.
Right around 3:20. At what point was it made clear in that video that it wasn’t a demolisher and “goblin engineering” or azerite infused?
You are probably right, but the cinematic didn’t do much to demonstrate that.
By many ships shooting balls of azerite infused pitch. They portrayed it poorly in the game.
yeah…plot fires.
Like how that horde force got there in the first place with SI:7 not going umm…king dude, we need regiment or 5 teleported now. Fit is about to hit the shan in kalimdor.
Bigger plot hole even bigger than this was SI:7 was in fact in Undercity. They would have reported lots of weaponized green goo. So…why did alliance show up with no gear for 1000000% chance of bio/chem weapons release.
Because the night elfs disregard OSHA regulation and apparently all frost mages did not work that day in the tree…
I mean a giant tree surrounded by water… And they had no pumps or nothing… Bad writing is bad
No tree grows forever my son.
The plot demanded it so magically the horde catapults worked. Even though a trees that big on an island thats still alive should not have burned so easily.
And it makes no sense that the nelfs lost so easily. Thier leaders are dam near gods in the lore.
