How does your CR and MMR become so far apart?

I’ve been trying here and there to work on my MMR, but it’s fluctuating between 1200 to 1350ish. My CR is 1500 and falling, as due to the discrepancy between the two values, I can only lose CR unless I win a good string of BGB matches.

Aside from just winning, my only recourse here is to lose enough to even them out right?

In lower MMR brackets, many players don’t fully understand how the map works. If you clearly guide them on what to do, your chances of winning increase significantly compared to solo working the game objective.

MMR goes up or down depending on if you win or lose. It typically doesn’t deviate far from CR unless you haven’t queued at all in the season (or haven’t reached your starting mmr yet) or you’ve had a spree of wins/losses which have either tanked or spiked your mmr.

This is false. Every season as I climb closer to 1800 in BGB, my MMV is 300-500 points higher than my CR, ranging on the low/high end of 18-30 points per win and a similar loss. It’s designed to keep you grinding, and the MMV you lose when losing drastically goes down. The more you lose at a lower MMV to your CR the more CR you lose, yet the higher your MMV is to your CR the less likely it’s trying to catch you up to where you “should be”. To properly climb you need to be going 3-1 patterns – and this is only likely to happen with sheer luck or you’re skilled on a high impact BGB class.

you just made that up lol. this is the second season of bgb and last season was so insanely inflated you have no solid grounds for any basis. Every other rated gamemode has very simple rating ± based on w/l, streaks, and inflation overtime

Yes – every season, meaning the two we’ve had so far with BGB. I have screenshots from both seasons outlining this. Stop posting nonsense. You’re spreading as much misinformation as a Trump supporter.

While it is essentially tru that your MMR will go up when you win and down when you lose, how much and for what, and how that differs at different levels of play, is a bit of a black box

But if you are in a position of having your MMR lower than your CR you are gonna have to work to get out of it.

It is a weird place where the math of winning sort of hurts you, as you want your MMR to be above or near your CR to climb, really, but a win will raise them both, just one of them is mostly a mystery

It’s heavily streak based. I have had situations where my MMR was 1k higher than my CR.

Don’t worry about your MMR too much as it can be gained back quite easily. At most you can only gain +36 CR from a win but you can gain +100 MMR or more from a win.

Just queue it up and play your best and try make it fun for yourself.
