How does vault decide which bosses loot you can get?

Just wondering if I can go in Heroic and only kill Eranog and Council will it only be loot from them or could it roll like any boss?

For raids, I believe (could be wrong) it’s only bosses you have killed that week.

For m+ its loot from any M+ dungeon even if you haven’t done the dungeon yet.

The loot is random you could kill the first 2 bosses and get something off a different boss.

You may receive loot from bosses you haven’t killed in raids, including tier gear even if you haven’t killed a boss that would give you tier gear. You simply have to kill at least two raid bosses to get a chance at raid loot.
