I just played level 20 in dungeons with higher levels like 50 or 60, I thought my damage will be pretty useless, as mobs must be scaled up? but turns out my damage is top in details addon? how is that possible? no idea how dungeons with vastly different levels work…
Scaling has broken the entire RPG element of getting stronger as you level.
You want to see how powerful you can get? make a level 20 twink, gear it with burning crusade dungeon gear and slot wrath gems into it (all agi or intellect), you’ll blow even the most hardcore mythic raider out of the water with your 20 twink!
(also you can play your brand new nuke on legs without a subscription, the true king’s way to play warcraft if you like pvp since you’ll be qued like the regulars, since you can’t level any higher on a trial account you can enjoy your god status forevermore.)
I have been running WoD dungeons for a couple of days, haven’t seen any gear with gem slots, can they be “enchanted” to open gem slots, or they come with the gear?

Yes, in particular crusader is really good on a 20 twink if melee, heal heal heal boom boom boom lol
(burning crusade normal gear has the most gem slots so it is the best for 20 twinks also, well any level twink thanks to chromietime i suppose)
it works like crap so many low specs blow away higher ones working as intended lol.
Lower lvl means more dps in Dungeon

oh so in BC boss will drop gear with gem slots? I saw some toons with gem slots I don’t know if they are “added” later or came with the gear
It’s a downright mess right now. That is why you see a lot of complaints in leveling Bgs as well.
Well you could add a gem slot to belt if you are over… level 30? 45? but that’s the only one you can add.
this is where I go to find the “best in slot” for overpowering a twink via gems xP its neat to look through since lots of the legacy sets still function for BC blue gear! 
(making a set like this also helps a ton if you are struggling with mage tower challenges, scaling is just as broken in those when it comes to gems)
I checked there, but was confused, now level 20 can get ilevel 61 gear, those ilevel 20+ gears in the DB are outdated?
well all gear scales to your character’s level so they just put in the maximum possible level for the scaling (when chromie kicks you out at level 59)
You could go into “dungeon journal > burning crusade > dungeons > loot” to see what your current scaled gear would drop as and compare to what you are wearing.
I was healing BFD on my level 58 monk last night and had to spam nearly every cooldown at my disposal to put a dent on the level 17 tank’s health pool.
At one point a tentacle sprouted up, grabbed a level 57 shaman, and just smeared him across the wall. Dude melted faster than my global cooldown could come back up. Later, another tentacle grabbed the 17 bear tank and barely tickled him. This scaling is wild.
