Do the abilites garrot/rupture do more damage only during the buff or do they do more damage for their entire duration if used during the buff?
Umm… youre asking about two different things here…
Lol Thistle Tea just instantly restores Energy
The buffs to Garrote from stealth stay on for the entire duration of the buff or until overwritten
Just to clarify, Thistle tea increases mastery for 6 secs which increases damage of bleeds and poisons. How does it apply is my question. Stealth buff for garrote is separate.
Ah you’re right sorry, clicked on the wrong link in WoWhead.
It stays for the entire duration. So long as it’s applied with the buff going. If you apply Garrote, and then use Thistle Tea, it will not benefit from the Mastery buff
The mastery from tea is only worth playing around for kingsbane. Having the mastery up for kingsbane’s last tick is very important.
Don’t hold off on reapplying dots to match with tea, its not worth it.
I dont think bleeds and poison snapshots anymore from mastery boosts. A long time ago that was changed, any secondary stat boosts will dynamically affect your existing bleeds and poisons for its duration.
the only snapshotting that still exists is from nightstalker and improved garrote cast from stealth, which is why you typically would cast kingsbane during dance and refesh garrote duration during dance or after vanish.
It does not snapshot, it is dynamic. So all your effects will get amped by that mastery for the 6s of teas buff then adjust back down when it falls off. This is why you want to use a tea charge at the end of kingsbane to buff the final hardest hitting ticks of it.
Inwent and screwed around on the training dummy with it. Tooltip for garrote was reading about 3500 a tick without tea, and with tea, it jumped up to like 4400 or something and remained there for the full 18 seconds.
I didn’t think it snap shotted either which is why I went to go test it before posting.
you need to look at the combat log damage or details damage, do not trust tooltips in this game.
Plus dummies don’t work how they’re suppose to and it might be completely different in an actual instance or pvp combat
The damage didn’t vary enough to show dynamic though. Not saying it doesn’t go off of dynamic style (which I assumed, thus why i wanted to check)
