There’s a pretty popular glitch regarding this that involves the group finder. Characters stay visible for about 1 minute after you’ve logged out. If you log in fast enough on another, you can see them.
I won’t go into details of how the group finder glitch works, but it’ll probably get fixed anyway.
Is it old glitch or is just for that particular instance? I sure people have logged out and logged in very quickly on another character and nothing happened. It was probably just lag in the server or something.
I wonder if this can be used to invite your own alt into your guild…
I think you can do that now anyway.
Easiest way to do that is to…
Add your guild to the guild finder. Get on the alt. Apply to the guild. Get on your main. Add the alt. Get on the alt. Accept. Get on the main. Invite. Get on the alt. Join.
Or just have a guildy invite you.
To invite your alts into a guild, they just sign up to join and the GM will approve them.
Not sure why he’s losing his mind over this. Your character doesn’t technically log out of the world for (I think) 20 seconds, so if you log in on another toon within that window, you can see your own toon.
This game is so confusing sometimes. Like when I go into a zone to quest and nobody is around and I’m questing alone, then all of sudden there’s a buttload of people around me just pop in out of nowhere. I’m like WTH, Blizz!
My problem is that my guild is dead on a dead server.
I left over a year ago, but recreated my old main character and would like to invite it using an alt I didn’t transfer. The problem is my alt doesn’t have permission to use the guild finder to accept requests.
Ideally I would l log out of my main (in a way they don’t disappear from the world, like in the video), switch to my alt and manually invite the main, switch back and accept the invite.
I’ve tried using alt+f4 before, but couldn’t get it to work.
oh my, I guess you have to wait until Blizzard automagically allow you to become GM. I don’t know how long that take.
Yeah it doesn’t really seem all that special but their excitement about it reminds me of the good ole days when things would excite me.
The new GM logs on once every few weeks or so and only for a few moments , likely to just keep the guild.
My alt was the last person to use guild chat. In October.
I know it’s silly, but it’s sentimental: it was my first server, first character (name, race, and class), and first guild. Even if I don’t plan to play the character much, it’s nice to hop on and visit Memory Lane.
