I understand how Solo Shuffle works — your rating is based on how many rounds you personally win, since you rotate teams and play with and against everyone. So even if you get bad teammates, you can still climb steadily through individual performance.
But in Rated Battleground Blitz, it feels like your rating is tied strictly to whether your team wins or loses — not your personal stats (damage, healing, objectives, etc.).
So here’s what I’m trying to figure out — and hoping someone can confirm:
- Is it true that your CR (current rating) in Blitz only goes up when your team wins and drops when your team loses — regardless of your personal contribution?
- I’ve heard that your hidden MMR (matchmaking rating) is what really determines your gains/losses:
- If your MMR is higher than your CR, you gain more rating per win.
- If your MMR is lower than your CR, you gain less or nothing, and lose more on defeat.
- So in theory, if you’re playing well and winning occasionally, your MMR should rise, and eventually your CR will start to catch up — but slowly.
- People are saying that Blitz is easier to climb in, just much slower and more streak-dependent, especially since individual performance doesn’t directly boost rating like it does in Shuffle.
So here’s my real concern:
If a player is putting in consistently strong performances (e.g., top DPS, heavy flag play, objectives), but just keep landing in bad matchups or chaotic games and losing, how are they supposed to climb? Will the system eventually recognize that the strong player belong in higher lobbies due to hidden MMR? Or is it really just a grind of wins over time?
Any clarification or confirmation from experienced Blitz players or those who understand how the MMR/CR system works in practice would be super helpful. Thanks!
