How does parry work?

Says something like 30% chance to parry. So I should parry frequently right? So why is a trinket that says it procs on parry hardly doing anything? like 4 times in 5 minutes with 30 second icd.

All I know is that the first amendment of rogues clearly states “they can’t parry if you’re doing it from behind.”

Trinkets will usually also have internal cool-downs so they can’t be abused. Eg it may only be able to proc every 20 seconds for example.

Sometimes it’s refreshing to do it from the side, give people options instead of just from the front or from the back. Makes it more enjoyable.

The only exception to that was the Levithians Lure from EP my god did that thing proc every 0.2 seconds on my affliction lock…

It’s like waahh then chiing and wiff.

The trinket probably has an ICD which limits how often it can proc.

Really wish they would show all cds for trinkets in their description. Just a nice quality of life change.

Isn’t parry just for physical attacks? Don’t they also have diminishing returns and hidden cd?

pretty sure parry doesn’t have a hidden cd, and yea it’s only for physical attacks.

yeah I mentioned that in my op. 30 second icd. But with a 30% chance to pary I should activate it once every 3 hits. The average auto attack speed is 2.5 seconds so once every7.5 seconds or so I should activate it. So it would proc’d more than 4 times in 5 minutes.

That’s good I don’t know if that was outdated information or if I made it up hence the question

this that thunder totem off kurog? they might have messed up the icd for it, or just changed it quietly without mentioning it, cause 30% parry happens very often.

So i could see them doing option 2 quiet tuning, and just not updating tooltip.

Used to be trinkets told the truth, now they have internal cooldowns and lie to you

ICDs are averaged over a period of time. They don’t necessarily have to proc on CD.

Probably because you didn’t actually read the tool tip where it says once every 30s.
