How does one get into ranked pvp?

I don’t have any kind of pvp partner but in an effort to min-max I want to start climbing the pvp ladder but I am lost on the best way to approach it.

Very few people seem to want to take a fresh start in arena and rated battlegrounds seem rather empty most of the time. I know how to approach end game pve but pvp seems a entirely different beast.

What is the best way to get started? Is it to slam my head against the wall with random non rated pugs till I find a partner that clicks? I play a DH should I be looking at 2s or 3s?

If in a guild or have friends, then do it that way.

Otherwise, only other solution is “just pugging it”.

I feared as much. Any recommendations on when to start? I have about a 461 ilv atm should I wait till I have two 460 weapons or does it not matter much?

To be perfectly honest, I don’t think it matters.

PUG DH 2s to get started. Start a group and put some along “new” “learning” “matches for fun.”

I just started as well on my main and had no issue finding people willing to play.

Sounds good will just jump into it and try my luck. I was just curious if there was some easy to take short cut but sounds like I just have to grind it up.

Rated pvp changes as you go up in rating. Really good gear can carry you to about 1800. After that rating skill and experience are more important. Then as you get even higher into ratings your comp starts to matter. The best and seemingly unbeatable comp right now is RMPala (Rogue, Mage, Paladin.)

Play dh/DK in 2s and it’s almost a guaranteed win, no matter the enemies comp/skill level

Play whichever one you enjoy more, you are unlikely to get to gladiator level where it matters for rewards, but both can be fun.

Queue with a good rogue, gpyro and combustion your way to victory.

The best way to learn is to watch high end players on Twitch/yt.

vanguards cleave is back? is rzn getting carried by vanguards again? is this 2012?

Take this with a grain of salt as I haven’t played much arenas but i’d imagine it to be a similar process to other games. try joining groups like guilds or discords, post on the forums, attend local tournements(Or in WoW’s case server events like gurubashi arena), or ask your friends who play and just go for fun
