I’ve googled, and I’m finding contradictory information. On paper, Hunter/DH/Warrior Mortal Wounds abilities/talents (50%) should blow Necrotic Wounds out of the water since Necrotic Wounds is 3% stacking up to six times (18%). However, I’ve heard that Mortal Wounds effects are cut in half for PVP (25%). If that’s the case, it looks more like 25% vs. 18%. Does Necrotic Wounds also get the cut in half treatment in PVP? If so, then it would look more like 25% vs. 9%. I’ve also heard that Necrotic Wounds stacks w/ other MW effects while MW effects do not stack w/ one another. Can anyone speak to that?
Would really appreciate some clarity if anyone can provide it. Thanks!
Necrotic wounds does not get halfed in PVP as it’s a PVP talent, and does stack with other MS effects.
This 100%.
To add, MS effects for all classes are only 50% effective in pvp.
I wish frost had one >_<

Wounds doesn’t get halfed in pvp, though 18% is still pretty trash so I would really hope it never will. Then again I’m maining Cata DK where canon-accurate Necrotic Strike exists sooo
To also add, MS is way better than wounds. Talking to Mes today about it, he mentioned the absorb is equal to about having a 5%-8% MS.

No.
Yes Necrotic stacks with MS effects because it isn’t a MS strictly speaking, it’s a heal absorb. MS just dampens the value, Necrotic does not do that it redirects a % of healing to the DK.
Congrats on playing one of the worst classes in pvp in that expac lol. Necrotic was good at OG cata launch and then dead till MOP.
Lol wtf??? Sounds like someone was badly fried at DK when it had higher skillcap pre-Legion.
I’ll take it though I guess if you’re gonna call my class one of the worst in Cata PvP, meanwhile I’m clutching tf up in games and frequently winning 1v2s and even occasionally 1v3s, and meanwhile Mes won the Cata AWC tournament.
But bruh Necrotic Strike was fine throughout all of Cata, and then even more crazy in MoP. They only changed the Rune type it required to be used from Unholy to Death Rune, which made our rotation more complex in order to use it as a higher risk = higher reward ability… but in no way in the Maw was Necro Strike EVER a “dead” ability until it got reworked into a discount mortal strike in Poodoolands and is now currently just worse than a mortal strike.
Quit smoking.
