How does Honor for Comp Stomp work?

It’s my first for the day. I says I should earn 300 Honor.

At the end-of-match summary screen, it says I earned 682 Honor.

But in the chat window, it says I earned 462 Honor.

What is this discrepancy? I know you don’t get Honor from kills, so it seems to me the chat window tally should also say 682.

What’s going on?

I did some bgs yesterday and I remember there being a buff while in the bg that gave extra honor/conquest.

I should clarify that it wasn’t comp stomp tho

Ok yes-- atm Horde has a “recruitment bonus” but again… why would it show 600+ in the final score window, but only 462 in the chat output?

How do I know which one is right?

+guhhh+ … I’m gonna have to record my Honor score before/after, aren’t I?

You get honor every so many points your team gets as well

So its the honor gathered + your end of game bonus for the total it shows

The question stands:

WHICH did I earn? the 682, or the 462??

I’ll be running another alt in about 15mins. I’ll update…

The 682, 462 is what you got at the end

You earned the 220 during the game

Ok pre-game setup:

Comp Stomp, 1st run of day: 300 Honor (150+150)
Conquest reward: 48
Horde “recruitment bonus”: Honor gains from Honorable Kills (note: don’t count in Comp Stomp) Battleground objectives and victory increased by 50%.

Starting Honor: 345
Starting Conquest: 84

Game over: tally screen says 658 Honor
Chat window: 462
Conq: 62

Chr currency after game:
Honor: 1003
Conq: 146

1003-345 = 658

Ok, so the chat window just isn’t showing whatever bonuses are applied. A little confusing imo, but as long as I’m getting the full reward, all’s good.

Write down your starting honor

Subtract that from your ending honor

Ta da you figured it out

Which is what I did.

The issue is: why does the final tally screen report a different amount that the output to the chat window?

The chat window should offer MORE info as to what/where your score comes from, not LESS.

You get some honor while playing and some more for finishing the match. The first win of the day awards more honor and quite a bit more conquest. The honor gain you see in the window at the end of the match is the total you earned.

It generally shows how much you get ‘per victory’, and your first one of the day has a bonus.

And then you get bonuses if you’re defending in a battle, killing players, getting flags, stuff like that.

It doesn’t tell you how much honor you get from a whole battleground, in advance.

What you see at the end, is the total + bonuses you accrued while playing.

It’s not perfect, it’s a general estimate I think. Never looked too closely at it lol, just would take my honor and go.

Because the “You have received 12 honor” chat window message doesn’t include buffs. It’s why the currency gain next to that same message will be different.

I’m not defending that btw.

Just to keep hammering this point home:

In Comp Stomp, you DO NOT get Honor for killing the bots.

You ONLY get Honor for … it’s like every 100-200 points of score you get.

You DO NOT get Honor for killing bots.

But you do get the defender’s bonus from sitting on already-capped flags, as well as others for capping and things like that.

It’s a small honor boost for doing so, and a passive buff to honor gain.

Even though you’re not getting kills in comp stomp, everything else in there is giving you small +honor increments.

I don’t think this is true.

I currently run 14-15 chrs through Comp Stomp every day. They all pull off various amounts of caps, defends, etc … and they all get the exact same amount of Honor.

If there is any sort of bonus for capping/defending etc, there is no way that would be possible.

Correct. The only sources of Honor in Comp Stomp are every 100 resources, match win, and the flask buff (maybe Enlistment too? Haven’t paid attention to that one.)

Well, it’s a bonus to honor gained from kills, so yeah I’m not actually sure it does anything in Comp Stomp tbh.

I figured there’d still be passive honor gain, but because most honor comes from kills, yeah not really sure.

I guess most honor from Comp Stomp just comes from wins alone.

And some trickling in from the bases and stuff.

Not sure- I only do it once for the “Something Different” quest, and the daily win for free conquest.

Comp Stomp isn’t something I farm, just because it’s not as honor efficient as, say, Epic BGs or Rated.

Honor calculations have always been kinda nuts (it has to calculate the player’s own rank), but Comp Stomp is weird because it’s basically PvE that rewards honor, so I’m not sure how they get the numbers they do.
