The question in the title. It confuses me.
I’m not sure to be honest. I could’ve sworn that back in the day you actually got less xp while in a group than you did solo so maybe my memory of Vanilla isn’t that great.
There’s no group bonus exp, xp is divided among the amount of people in the group. Except the bunus xp you get from logging out in an inn, then you get double xp from that to a point.
I was watching Esfand and Asmon and they were benefiting from “group bonus” when they were together turning in quests.
Is this just a troll by them then?
He was tagging mobs and other plyers killed the mob for him
No, they turned in quests too and said to stack up on each other for bonus xp.
I was in a group doing a quest yesterday and the floating text said I got group bonus XP
Let’s put it that way. If you are solo and kill a mob that gives you 100 exp. While being part of a group of and killing the same mob it will gives you exp = to 100 / number of players in the group + (group bonus). So yes you get less per mob killed to your character but it’s a higher value gained overall for everyone. With 1 mob you get 50+Y from group bonus. Which ends up being 100+Y*(numbers of players in the group) from the mob exp gained toward the group.
PE: The more you group, the faster you kill, the more fun you get by not constantly having to sit and drink or wait. Sure you’ll fight for loot and whatnot but, the whole idea is to just make this more enjoyable by roaming with people and making this as easy as possible. I would never take on 5 mobs at once on my Mage, but with a priest, piece of cake… and Yes getting 5 kills in the same amount of time as killing 1 by yourself… is a net gain.
