Im not sure how the friends list work in modern wow, is it tied to your battle.net ID?
Will we have the old simple friends list in game in Classic?

It’ll be just like Retail.
You have your character’s server based Friends List. You also have Battle Net friends which are clearly identified as Battle Net.
The way it works in beta appears to be completely detached from bnet. You add someone and it adds their character to your friend list and not their btag. I would assume that’ll be how it works in Classic, but maybe it’s just a beta thing.
Thats the way it is in live as well. . Default is server, you have to specify bnet if you want to send a bnet invite.
This is what I’m assuming as well. I mean, it wouldn’t be hard to minimize and just see your friends list through the launcher, so what would be the point of completely detaching it?
I would think they will disable bnet friends list chat though, because you would be able to chat cross faction if you don’t. But again, I’m sure you’ll be able to minimize and do that if you really wanted to.
I’m not assuming. I’m describing what it was in the Live client, during the Stress test.
They will not, because the perceived danger is far too insignificant. Discord, just to name a single method, is far more likely to be the method of communication. However, you cannot request a Battle Net friend connection of someone of the opposite faction, in Classic. They’re not going to make it that easy.
A-ha but it is that easy for every reason you said before that.
And I didn’t participate in this stress test so I didn’t see it. Thanks for clarifying
In the live client could you see all of your existing bnet friends? Because you cannot in the beta.
And just to add. If you already have someone on your Bnet friends list that rolls the other side you can talk to them. Also if you add them in live for example. But no right clicking opposing faction to invite.
The Beta is not part of the live cloud. I literally talked to someone on Retail.
Yeah, but if you’re fighting or competing with someone, you can’t immediately connect with them like you can on Retail.
Ahhh, very good to know. . Thanks.
Sure, sure. I figured that might be the case. Just checking because I did not try the latest stress test.
