I played a skirm on my SV hunter and went against an Unholy DK. I was in camo from the start of the match and somehow his riders of apocalypse were rushing straight toward me and had me targeted. Does anyone know what causes this?
All I could see was that he popped abomb ghoul at the start of the match with nobody out of stealth yet, and he seemed to have several pets/riders. I couldn’t do anything but run in camo as fast as I could but it didnt matter. They saw me from forever away instantly. Whats up with that?
There is probably an interaction where if they target you before stealth then it tracks you in stealth. This happened in SoD with some abilities like Lock pets. If you target them before stealth pet will track them and knock out.
Sounds like he just target locked you out the gate and the rest is history nothing you can do about it.
He just ran to where he thought you were and got you out. There’s no stealth sight, there’s just a limited number of places you could be and he guessed right.
Abomb I could see that happening except that I enter camo before the gates even open so nobody can see my health pool or anything.
Nasjarin he was in the center of the map and I was on the outside edge, at least 50yds away. His riders had me targeted and were coming straight for me while he ran around the middle.
I don’t unfortunately I’m not a gladiator by any means but I’ve pvp’d for 15+ years and am pretty aware of what every class has as I play about all of them. It seemed like a really strange scenario & I couldn’t come up with an explanation
There is no way that DK sees stealth. There is also no macro that would allow him to see or target you.
Are you sure the riders were targeting you? Like, you had target of target enabled? I can test this weekend to see if they have stealth detection, but it sounds a LOT more likely that you just got knocked out of stealth and didn’t notice.
I really wish I had a video haha. Yes I had target of target on & I targeted a rider because he was running right at me as the DK stood in the center unknowing of my position. I saw the rider had me targeted, and I double checked my camo and saw that it was on. Certainly doesn’t make any sense I know. I suppose I can chalk it up to a bug or just weird glitch scenario.
@Abomb are you playing prot PvP? I remember you doing that awhile back. I faced 1 prot warrior in a skirmish and was blown away by how insanely powerful it was. So much interrupt & damage/survability. I think prot warr is actually a sleeper rn since everyones focused on fury.
It’s summon abomination , not abom limb. The patchwerk pet has a very large anti stealth radius ( think it’s 20-30y or something) where it auto dots and pulls things out of stealth.
A common strat for dk against stealth is to abom mid map and run around fishing people out.
Ya for sure, I had said abomb ghoul not abomb limb, but it’s semantics anyway. I could see the patchwerk pet possibly getting me out if the radius is THAT big then… but I swore I saw camo still on. There’s always a chance I thought I saw something I didn’t though too. It all happens so quickly
seeing a hunter complain about pets breaking stealth randomly is chefs kiss after hunter pets have been doing it since day one.
but also are you sure you were still in stealth? there’s currently a bug with DKs and locks where some abilities automatically de-stealth everyone in a large radius
