Hi, 1 of my Main accounts is currently holding Guild Ownshiper over a medium size guild. If i we’re to go on a 3 month break who will get ownership?
My husband is in my guild but i made like a Co GM rank so he is currently holding onto Co GM Title, however he is on a break atm, His account has been frozen for 2 months. I want to go on a 3 month break, We both want to return maybe in 5 months. Will we loose guild ownership for both being gone for 5 months? even tho I am Guild Owner and he is Co GM?
We don’t want to loose our guild ownership so trying to see what to do.
Top 3 active ranks, the next active person. One of the ways to avoid this is set the Guild Leader on a free account, a level 20 or under character. That way you can just log in every week or month to reset the inactivity.
Actually a fool proof method is to demote everyone to rank 4 or below and keep rank 1-3 to yourself and your husband. The guild will be untouchable, even a GM won’t be able to circumvent it.
Oh? so if i we’re to do that, and we both went on that 5 month break, but came back, we would still be able to keeo ownership? even when being unactive for more than 3 months? won’t have to worry about getting voted down?
They can, but they are much less likely too. At that point they’d probably encourage you to use recruit-a-friend or scroll of resurrection to bring back the GM. I’m pretty sure they would do it if it was over a year or so however but it’s probably case by case.
So dethroning exists to prevent the case where a GM flat out quits for any extended duration. The issue is that even in a fairly laid back guild there are powers a GM cannot delegate. As such an absentee GM actually makes the guild de-facto dead to the game.
Yup. The ONLY time a Game Master will get involved if one of you was hacked and they changed ownership. Just make sure to downrank everyone to 4 or below. The guild I run on BRW Rank 1-3 is for me and my alts, 4 and beyond are for officers and other players. You’ll want to edit the bank permission to protect the guild bank before you take your break though.
And this was actually made worse when they downgraded the permissions that a GM can delegate when converting guilds to fit the community system. The entire thing could honestly use a re-work.
It doesn’t give you the ability to split up all the permissions that they rolled under the “is officer” option. Hence my use of the term ‘downgrade’. (My opinion of course but there’s a monster thread somewhere around here that still hates it too.)
