How does Darkshore cycle work?

I thought the whole Darkshore cycle started with us providing various resources for a few days (not sure how many) then after that we do the battle itself (6 or 7 days, also not sure how long specifically) and get a quest to complete the battle on each max level toon, plus some cool lower level gear rewards each time you do it. Then after a week or so of fighting the battle, we own it, get the world quests there, including an awesome elite that drops a 400 ilevel piece. Then it’s the Horde’s turn and this continues to cycle on this way.

I was pretty sure this was how it worked. Then last week I collected resources on all my toons for a few days, BUT instead of having the 6-7 days of the battle, we somehow already own Darkshore and can access the world quests and elites, AND it says I already killed Ivus the Decayed (which I did on all my toons last time we owned Darkshore, though the world boss usually resets each time we own it).

So am I bonkers or did we totally skip the whole 6-7 day battle part this time around and jump right into owning it, and this time around the world boss didn’t reset for some reason as well? Maybe I am mistaken and it didn’t work this way but that’s what I can recall from doing it on half a dozen characters the past couple months.

It goes like this:

Phase 1: Provide Resources (enemy faction has control of DS) - This lasts ABOUT 5-7 days. Depends on how fast resources are provided

Phase 2 (once your faction reaches 100% resources provided): DS Warfront available to queue - your faction is attacking (enemy faction still has control of DS). This lasts about 5 to 7 days

Phase 3: Your faction now controls DS (you can no longer do the WF). This lasts about 2ish weeks while the enemy faction firsts builds resources and then attacks via WF

I am a complete idiot. I just realized the resource collection last week was for Stromgarde…not Darkshore. GUH. Wish I could delete this post now.

It happens.

I contribute fully excited to farm gear for transmog again, then when the battle time rolls around I pick up the quest to remind me to do it. Then for 5 days I chase something shiny that caught my eye and forget all about it.

This is me. I dread it so much, if I don’t pick it up as soon as I realize it’s up on every character, it won’t get done.

I officially hate Warfronts now :frowning:

I used to do it as soon as it hit and then spend the next few days doing nothing but WFs.

Lately though I don’t realize it until I am about to log and figure I will do it the following day.

Then during the course of the next day I am reminded about something on the to do list I still haven’t written down after all these years and forget all about the WF.

Yes, I was about to say that (Arathi resource time.)

I only do the Darkshore warfront one now, have not needed a 370 in forever.
