How Does Crafting Old Naxx Stuff Work?

I just want to make sure I am understanding correctly because I am confused.

People are saying you have to have obtained the tier 3 armor sets to CRAFT them, or in otherwords, get the achievement “Drop Dead Gorgeous”.

If I have that achievement let’s say, because I got the Warrior tier 3 armor for example, does that then allow me to craft all of the other tier 3 sets because of that achievement being unlocked? Or is it by a set by set, piece by piece basis?

Is this also how the old items work for things like misplaced servo arm, plague bearer, etc?

So what is the point of this making anyone, who does not have one of the 4-5 crafting professions who can do this, there are some frost colored armors from the original, but almost every other armor color is available from wrath content?
