Can someone explain how a company operates when they don't know and don't listen to what their customers want? I'm struggling to understand how they do it - usually companies want to sell their products and appeal to customers but for Blizzard it seems to be the opposite?
Because, only a loud vocal minority of their customers actually complain, and they are doing quite well overall.
Only a vocal minority of their customers are butthurt babies. :)

Believe it or not, WoW is still the most subscribed and played MMO today. Despite what you want or think the game should be like.

They have implemented cash shops, etc. They make a killing. They don't need to care about what we want.
The people who've played their games since way back aren't sticking around.
They're making games for the mindless. They are a shell of their former selves.
It's actually sad to see an era end.

Yeah. Like the 100k dislikes vs 5k likes on mobile gaming.
Sounds like the minority.
Voice your opinions but remember this is just an early demo that they probably forced out early to give us something. I am not losing hope that they will get this right still. All we can do is point out the failures and hope it was either a mistake or something they tried to get out feedback. Personally I think most of the stuff people are worried about will be fixed come the release.
So the WoW subscription numbers haven't been on a downward trajectory for years and years?

Super easy to bot dislikes.
Also, 100k is a drop in the bucket. Just sayin'.

Due to the fact that MMO's as a genre are not popular. A fraction of the WoW population in 2006 is playing today.
Blizz only makes pennies from WoW compared to Overwatch.

I'd be willing to bet WoW makes a lot more money than Overwatch. But neither of us can be proven right since Blizzard no longer releases numbers.
Blizzard were the kings of PC games and made tons of money. It's kind of like Nintendo, they made crazy amounts of money with successful games/consoles. Because of their money, they can make flop after flop and not sink (wii u for example).
I'm hoping they can pull it back, give them a chance. As a community we need to give them constructive criticism and hope they deliver. Look at Nintendo's trouble, then bang Switch success. Classic just might be that Switch.

A lot of morons still pay $15 a month to play retail WoW.

Obviously living on the fumes of one of the top 3 best games ever made (Chess, D&D, then Pre-TBC WoW). Now that the fumes are dying out, they need to restart a fire and they're trying to ignite that excitement by rereleasing the game as it was. Little do they know the sharding change is removing a core, fundamental appealing aspect that made the game as good as it was.
Quantity > quality
