How does Aura Mastery Rune effect Sanctity Aura?

How does the Aura Mastery Rune effect Sanctity Aura? It seems to be for Concentration aura. but is has the line “Improves the effect of all other aura’s by 100%”. As a dps pally i use the Sanctity Aura all the time for the bonus 10% holy damage. So does that mean i get 100% holy damage for the duration that its up?

No 100% of 10% is 10% so you would do 20% extra holy damage instead of 10% extra holy damage from the aura

Ah i see. Well that explains why it seems like nothing happens when i activate it. Has a more subtle effect. Still an extra 10% is pretty cool huh? So i guess Retribution does 32 points damage instead of 16, and Devotion Aura does 1488 Armor instead of 744?

Are you using abilities that deal holy damage during the (short) duration of the buff? It’s possible you’re not timing abilities properly to actually happen if you’re not noticing a difference. Or perhaps, you’re using it before you have Vindication / Vengeance, so the 10% damage isn’t outstanding the way it would be had everything been lined up.

My rotation is 1Seal of the crusader, 2judgement, 3seal of righteousness, 4crusader strike, 5divine storm. then i go from judgement since the seal of crusader stays on.

I activate Aura mastery right before crusader strike

Little confused. You’re not using Martyrdom, Command, or Exorcism? Yea you’re not going to notice much difference. It’s a minimal CD as it is, but you’re not packing anything into it.

I dont really understand. I dont have the Martyrdom seal, i went with the runes that the icy veins website said to use. it doesnt list that one. Righteousness has a holy damage bonus i thought would be good, and i have it improved through the talents. also im using ice barbed spear, which is a slow weapon and benefits from SoR. Exorcism i use when fighting undead or demons but cant be used on most mobs.

You need to get your class books.

You buy them in the stormwind library

I haven’t visited the Icyveins guide you referred to, but it sounds like it’s out of date. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t recommend SoM.

Seal of Martyrdom is a skill you can learn fairly early on (level 10) by visiting Milton Sheaf in Stormwind to acquire the skill book (by buying it). It does a percentage of your weapon’s damage with each swing and restores a little mana to you with each hit; it does deal a bit of damage to you as well, but it’s miles better than Seal of Righteousness and helps you and your party with the mana restoration effect.

I see that it does have it. I maybe was looking in the wrong place. It shows in the rotation guide. The Rune guide was more for each armor slot i guess. Icy Veins is thee premiere class guide on the net BTW

Ok i got the Seal of Martyrdom. So which should a leveling pally use? Martyrdom, Righteousness or Command? My weapon speed is 3.60

I tended to prefer Martyrdom for leveling, but Command is comparable. I wouldn’t use Righteousness at all.

I recommend joining a guild with a high parse pally or join a discord for paladin players.

Icey veins has been flat wrong many times for retail pvp builds. There is no telling if they’re right or even up to date for something like SoD. Icey vein guides are often covered by 1 or 2 players who are “pros” at 1 or 2 classes, then they give their advice on ALL the classes even the ones they have no xp and icey veins does nothing to cross-reference them, so they often get away with giving false information.

You can always try warcraft logs and make adjustments to the build for what you think works best for leveling.

For leveling use martyrdom by itself unless you experiment with seal twisting(for 90% of pallies it ends up being a dps loss bc of the concentration/globals twisting takes away from everything else), once you get 6 set tier one use martyrdom+command for slow weapons and martyrdom+righteousness for fast weapons(due to how command normalizes proc rate for fast weapons whereas righteousness does not normalize its sp coefficient) use exorcism whenever its up, then prioritize DS(judgement if 6 set tier 1 bc double judge) then judgement(or ds here if 6 set t1) always keep your seals up(if 6 set t1 that means you pop 2 seals after judgement and for ease just macro martyr to judgement and save yourself effort since judgement isnt on the gcd) and spring for seal of crusader on opening use crusader strike and consecration as fill

I don’t use that rune. I keep using the fear aura for the visual effect under My feets. I feel like a real paladin from warcraft 3
