How does 2h fury warrior hold up?

I been messing around with it and doing more dps than arms. Im not good at the game though so im wondering if anyone is playing 2h fury. I understand arms is weak, but im trying to make 2h warrior work somehow

It works well and is viable for raiding

Depends what you want. You can do OK damage but your going to be 15% behind dual wield Fury.

Whenever i try arms in dungeons my dps seems insanely low. With 2h fury it feels a lot better, without windfury its kinda rough

Yup playing 2h in pve setting without wf is gonna be hell. Wf is now raid wide so shouldnt be an issue. And even then in best case scenario you will be fighting to stay away from last place on the meters. Its not unique to warriors even shamans 2h pales in comparison to dw. The devs just dont care for 2h users.

Oh for sure. If your talking 2H Fury vs 2h Arms, Fury all day for PvE. It’s not even close.

2H seems to sim ~20% worse than dual wield. Being that far behind, it is doubtful that many good players in good raids will give it an honest try to see what it does in practice.

Fully world buffed DW warriors, even with bis, are already behind rogues and ferals on single target and get left in the dust on aoe fights. This further makes trying to do anything other than what is most optimal feel even worse for you and your group/raid.

Double the arms weapon proc chances.

Empower mortal strikes to sometimes cause cleave to cost no rage, upcap targets and up the damage by 30%

So doing more DPS than arms is… w/e admittedly. I should try out 2h Fury, though I’m an Arms-andy who wants to die on Arms Hill for PvE and I’m grateful my guild allows me to play it. However, if you’re comparing 2h-fury to Arms it’s okay neat but then you look at Fury dual wield you’re not going to get far. Dual Wield will outperform. If you’re looking to make 2h work I commend you, but at that point, you need to have fun. I’m going to try out 2h fury next week and see if there’s any difference though and will post the results again! Maybe I’m just missing something in my brain that would make it work!

But as for Viability, it all is still. While the content is harder, it doesn’t mean it’s so hard you have to run meta or die. Take it from the guy who’s running Arms in their guild.

Try 2h fury, it feels pretty fun. I like arms too but i just feel like an absolute hinderance. I havent had anyone complain but when the group is doing 600-1k+ dps in the dungeon and im struggling to break 400 on packs im just waiting for someone to say something lmao.

Playerbase has been pretty chill about it so far. I just want to smack stuff with a 2h

I’ve been rolling as 2H Fury and it seems to work decently if you don’t got the gear for DW. I’m still playing around with it a bit though. Just did a MC run as 2H Fury using raging blow. Next time I’m gonna try it with Blood Frenzy and Rampage instead of wrecking cew with which would make it functionally the same as the ARMS rotation. I did get up to 1.9k in a Kazzak PUG the other day with it and had no world buffs. Its still an overall underwhelming spec though compared to what most other classes and do. 2H just needs a buff overall.

I’ve been 2H Fury the whole phase. It works well enough and I can keep up with our DW warriors, even got a 99 parse on Heat 2 Rag. You have the option of doing Taste for Blood and Blood Frenzy, or Endless Rage and Raging Blow. Both do very similar DPS, so just play what feels more fun to you. I recommend the latter because it lets you focus more on rage management. If you go the latter spec, prio Execute > BT > Slam (precise timing) > RB > WW while Heroic Striking as needed. If you can time it right, you can also Raging Blow between Executes during execute phase. I think it’s a fun build to play that has only been recently ruined by me getting my 6 piece bonus. Glad to answer any questions about the spec.

Do you think quick strike is worth anything? I havent gotten raging blow rune yet, its the only one im missing. But im gonna try out what you said, i appreciate the advice

I run Quick Strike and I have tried to press it when I have nothing else to press and I’m about to rage cap. But it’s not worth it if literally anything else is going to come off CD, and definitely not worth risking pressing once you have 6piece.

They should turn quick strike into some version of Colossal Smash and balance it in a way to make 2h do the same damage as DW.

It’s griefing if you play 2h.

its worse than dual wield, so instead of middle of the pack youre lower-middlish at best, but at least you arent beat by every tank except prot war the way Arms is

i think the issue is that blizzard forces cookie cutter specs, but this is more specifically a problem if you use a fast 2h weapon with fury warrior, then your dps is bad, and when i say bad, i mean really bad, so at level 60, in sod, if you’re using refined arcanite champion in fury bloodthirst spec + flurry up, you’re getting only 350-375 single target dps at most on mobs close to your level or up to 10 levels lower, and like Ivape mentioned, barely breaking in the low 400 dps in aoe situations with mobs that are several levels lower than you, and this is with a mix of blue and purple gear and at least 26 percent crit in berserker stance + 6 percent melee haste from henchants / iron counterweight and more or less the right runes, like frenzied assault, focused rage ( precise timing doesn’t work well with fast 2h weapons ), etc.

meanwhile rogues in vanilla wow ( not sod ) are getting around the same as you would in single target, and in sod, around 700k in single target, and i’ve seen as high as 1000 in dungeons for combined aoe + single target.

now the usual slower 2h fury build will give better results, but not as fun in my opinion, and arms is too clunky too play without flurry, in tbc, it was a different story, and i was able to get top dps at times in Alterac valley from a arms mortal strike build with some points in flurry ( abeit with recklessness up ), but both vanilla wow and sod really have bad design for warriors overall, ( not just fury ).

Acquired BRE can’t wait for raid night

its still pretty bad

fury even with broken empyrean demolisher is still a mid-tier dps. 2h is worse. Arms isnt even a class and does almost 50% of the dmg of a bunch of classes.
