How do zepplins work?

Zepplins:

  1. What kind of power do the balloons on a Goblin zepplin use? Gas powered, helium powered?

  2. How long- in terms of days/hours- does it take to get from point A to point B in one of those things?

  3. How do they not get shot down without exploding?

I need to lnow.

No one at all?

It’s fueled by Kaja’Cola.

Like willy wonka and the chocolate factory.

The balloon is filled with Goblin Hot Air Special ™. This Special ™ air, produced from goblins force fed a particular diet, is known to have super lifting qualities. The forward thrust is provided by goblin-bred Orchamsters ® who toil away on wheels which provide direct rotation to the blades. Some experimentation has been had with turbines powered by the Goblin Hot Air Special ™. Early experiments have resulted in explosions and singed hair.
As far as speed and time to travel distances, Azeroth has some odd quirks which result in distance between any two points to be highly malleable. Still, the planet often, very quietly, murmurs “Are we there yet?” and “Did you check the map?”.
Goblin zeppelins are quite flammable! See any of the recent skirmishes where the Alliance have set them on fire.

Based on the cataclysm cinematic, they explode when struck in the air bladders. So they must be filled with hydrogen.

The NPCs on the zeppelin from Org to Undercity had a running joke about it crashing into Thunder Bluff and Thousand needles on the way to and from.

It’s now out of commission.

Goblins have a patent on reverse gravity air ships.

They work off azerite gas

Okay then:

Alliance zepplins? Did gnomes create them?

Knowing goblins… they want to use the cheapest materials as possible to maximize their profits.

So it’s probably bubble gum, paper clips, and parts from a remote control tonk toy.

I’m pretty sure the Goblin Zeppelin works the same way as all Goblin inventions do - on a wing and a prayer.

You’re making me never want to get on one again.

How do they drive a zeppelin?

they us a bike

I will say that zeppelins made for only transporting and commercial issues are inflammable. Specially because i remember and old npc goblin (now removed i guess) who was at the zepelins tower, that tell you about don’t use fire spell and things like that while traveling.
But those big zepelins that the Horde army use probably are fueled with the same kind of gas that modern zepelins from real world, wich is not inflammable. Other wise would be the worst flying war machine ever.

goblin blood. its 99% rocketfuel. its a uncommon secret.

where is point A and how many miles away is point B ? (w/o variables we cant answer this.)

they can explode but have to hit a part with a flame/spark/heat that is connected to the explosive fuel. an arrow through the fabric or w/e isnt gonna do much to casue fireworks.

We’ll say Org to Northrend

likely not possible.
lore wise even taking large ships was iirc month or so journey.

Zepplins were not designed for extremely long distances w/o any place to land and take a break/refuel/etc.

the in game ones from org to STV and UC are likely just there for ways to travel between em (since cant have a boat in middle of the city and when game started there wasnt a usable port)

As I recall, during Cata, the quest line to get to Twilight Highlands involves waiting for a zep to arrive in Azshara. While you wait you get a pre-flight safety lecture from a couple of goblins (it’s hilarious btw).
During the course of this lecture, you learn that zeps are filled with an exceptionally volatile gas which will explode from the slightest provokation. “Even verbal!”
God, I love goblins

Cow farts, lots and lots of cow farts.
