How do you want Tinkers designed?

I’d rather they not waste their time

I know I’d prefer it to be limited to Goblins and Gnomes. I also know that I’m very much in the minority in this debate, and I’d happily accept it race restricted or not.

My two reasons:

  1. It allows the player to really experience the Goblin vs. Gnome tech supremacy rivalry. Thematically, that makes it sound even more awesome. Being race restricted also means that they can really invest in differentiating between the two racial themes, all the way down to Goblins using rockets vs. Gnomes using plasma weapons. Also restricting it can allow it to remain a bit more whimsical, just like the two races.

  2. Full-sized mechs just aren’t realistic for gameplay. They’re just too big. This means that mechs shouldn’t be much larger than the largest races. That kind of makes it limited to smaller races. Can you imagine doing melee in a raid and having to see through a Tauren in a giant mech?

So unless we don’t get mechs ( :sob:) or we get a new type of small mech, that’s not much larger than a Tauren.

My first point is nothing more than my personal affinity for that lore. I’m not selfish enough to gatekeep, but I honestly believe that to make it as good as it can be, it should be restricted to those two races. As an additional race for the Horde, I’d suggest a new Undermine themed Goblin Allied Race, themed like 1920s Mobsters and Flappers.

not worth my time any more than it’s worth blizzards time to create a class based on an existing profession.

Ah but it’s worth the other poster’s time to provide statistics to you? Nah.

There’s a ton of room for eng and a mech class to coexist.

Other wise we wouldn’t have enchanting and enh sham or alch and brewmaster

Spec wise there should be a melee mech spec, themed around building mechcanical augements to the player, suits, arm attachments etc

There should then be a ranged spec aimed at enhancing allies (similar to augmentation evoker) and performing ranged combat with guns/lazers/mines etc

Then there should be a construct healing spec aimed making bots, turrets, satellites, injectors etc

It would be cool if allies could interact with the tinker abilities… the modern equivalent of “standing in the healers green circle” could be interacting with the tinkers gadgets.

Mech Tank
Mech Melee (crash and smash)
Mech Range (rockets, crawling mines and bouncing bombs)

What I want is for it to be available to all races and you can choose the technology you want to use from the more tech advanced races(gnomes, goblins, draenei, nightborne, dwarves, etc.)

Tank should be a mech. Melee should be the claw arm backpacks. Ranged should be artillery.

That’s what I’d want.

I would want them to be physical ranged dps with mech gadgets like turrets that spawn around you like totems.

I would absolutely play this.

Evoker and Dwarf reskins are what we are getting but you are not okay with Tinker?

It’s just a boring concept that nobody can flesh out in a way that sounds remotely interesting.

And I’ll gladly take more dwarves over elves any day.

What is boring about spider mines, poultrilizers, machine guns, jet packs, energy barriers, teleportation pads, flamethrowers, rat blasters, lightning emitters, mechanical chicken coops…

The possibilities for flavor and abilities are endless.

As far as gameplay-wise, we don’t really have a ranged trapper build. Survival Hunter was gutted to make them a melee spear zug so we don’t have a ranged spec that has tricks and traps to that same extent. High mobility gunner with mines, rocket jump, net launchers, yada yada.

Honestly I’m going to stop there because if you aren’t sold you’re likely just a contrarian. Objectively there is a ton of space to play in to the point where Hearthstone has full tinker-themed gameplay with mech / Dr. boom type decks.

Let’s be real, if Blizzard announced it officially you would be cheering it on. You just lack imagination.

Unlike Earthen which are lame AF, Tinkers have already proven their popularity in Hearthstone. They showed up in Hearthstone’s first full card expansion and at this point have I want to say at least four card expansions dedicated to them to the point where they’re roughly an unofficial class at this point.

You just lack the mental capacity to map that into the MMO for whatever reason.

From DOTA 2 alone you have Tinker, clockwerk, timbersaw and gyrocopter. The theme to flesh out is steampunk… you already have many many NPCs in WOW that thematically use abilities that fit.
