I know I an pretty slow but I have won several “Cosmetic Items” in Shadowlands. I have no clue how to use them. I have looked on Wowhead and in Blizzard forums but only find references to how to transmog from the transmogrification guy. When I go there…nothing. I try equipping the cosmetic item at the transmogger even and nothing. Just a nice looking item at 1 equipment level. Hurting your gear score? Again I know I’m not up on everything Wow in Shadowlands but HELP please.

You transmog them the same as any other piece of gear. However, you would need to be eligible to use them.
Some would have expansion level requirements (such as being high enough level to enter Shadowlands). Some might have Covenant restrictions.
Do you recall the name(s) of the item(s) you wanted to transmog?
Just as an example atm I have a Deaths Advance Battlefield Drape. I can put it on and see it but it is only a level one so my item level drops to 197. I went to the transmog guy and it isn’t avail to transmog my drape to look like it so it looks as though I don’t have the transmog “learned”. Not a clue and these cosmetics are taking up too much bag and bank space for not being able to figure out what to do with them… Sorry, I don’t mean to be stupid but I just can’t find any info.

It is odd that you are unable to see it. I can use it on all of my Shadowlands level appropriate characters.
When you do the search for it by name in the collection while at the transmog vendor, it doesn’t show up at all?
Oh crap. I’m so sorry to bother you I just figured it out. I am able to transmog to them but they are staying in my inventory. I’m not sure why? Is this intentional because some of them have a vendor value?
Items don’t leave your inventory cause you transmog to them, you are only using the appearance.
Once you learn an appearance and it shows in your appearance collection you can safely vendor or delete the associated item.
PLEASE NOTE: Always ensure that the item in question does not have a refund timer (for items bought from vendors) OR a trade timer (for items dropped while in an instance group) before you vendor it or delete it. If a timer is showing, just wait out the 2-hour timer and then you can safely delete or vendor it.
