How do you tame Deth'tilac now?

So as the title asks how are you suppose to tame this rare now. The foam sword method doesn’t work, if I take off all my armor and auto attack I can get him down to 20% he then, however, kills me with “Deth Strike”

“Deth’tilac strikes an enemy, instantly killing them. This attack cannot be dodged, blocked, or parried. Costs Deth’tilac 10% of maximum health.”

This appears to be a very recent change so their is literally no information as of patch 11.0.5. Additionally, thanks to cataclysm classic I keep finding guides for level 85 (thank you blizzard for all the classic versions which makes looking up information just that much more difficult.)

Get him that low, slow him, tame him.

Been years but I think you keep sacrificing pet to death strikes and revive until he’s low enough to tame

It’s a hunter kiting challenge; he tames the same as he always has. Engage with pet, let him use his one-shot ability on pet, slow as needed, rez pet, rinse and repeat.

Don’t run too far away or he resets.

As someone who just did this on a new hunter I tried various things…ended up having to kill him and realm hop a few times before i found the right combination of terrible gear + res sickness + whole body shrinka to get him <10% in one hit.

It is definitely still possible…honestly though unless you have the patience to go through trial and error killing him repeatedly I’d grab a few friends and just let him murder them with his special attack until he’s low enough to tame.

“In Soviet Russia, Deth’Tilac tame you.”

I just came here to say that I believe Blizzard should add a damaging ability to the pet utility bar that won’t damage a tamable mob’s health below 10%, and won’t engage Auto Shot.

I tamed him at 80 with just the foam sword. Take off your weapon, put down a tar trap, hit him with the sword, disengage, then tame pet. It was really easy.

I can’t remember if I used turtle but I’m pretty sure it doesnt do anything for his one shot ability iircc.
