How do you solo Torghast as a Rogue?

I can’t beat the layer 2 boss on the left side, the big fire boss.

I am ilvl 151 Sub Rogue

His regular melee attacks destroy me.

I’ve got the mechanics fine but he just hits so hard.

Am I just too low of an ilvl for this?

I barely beat him at 163 ilvl. Had to pop everything to do it - Will to Live, Crimson, Evasion, Cloak, use my Kyrian potion, plus the 10k heal potion you get in Torghast, Blind, Kick. It took every bit of utility I had as a rogue, including interrupting some of his attacks with stuns.

I’ve started grouping up. It feels near impossible to solo the end bosses. I have no issue during the floors, it’s just the end boss that gets me.

I completed both wings @ lvl 3. Deeper strat + Kidney shot ftw. Dont forget you can blind as well. Rogues have plenty of defensives (evasion/cloak) as well… so in this case, between a 7 second kidney, and evasion for 10 seconds to prevent these “big melee attacks”, you have 17 seconds to slap the boss around taking little to no damage

I’m sticking with Assassination for now like I have since Cata and had to group up for even the first layer.

The floors are ridiculously easy imo, but the end bosses are stupid overtuned. On the other hand, in a group depending on how people are pulling, the floors are more challenging and the end boss is easier. I’d rather be soloing them like every other class.

That boss still wrecks me no matter what.

At a certain point, I have to take damage, and it comes so hard and so fast that I just crumble. You can’t prevent the damage at all times, and it’s those times that I can’t make it through. He takes like 25% of my health in 1 melee attack.

I have 21k health. He hits for around 5k each time.

I soloed them as Assassination up to and including Layer 3. It’s not that hard.

Tried. Failed on second layer boss.

Then stop playing rogues worst spec?

@ Snozy

Which spec is preferred for Torghast?

Which covenant? What strats? Care to provide any actual useful information?

I did it as sub/Kyrian at an ilvl of 160.

It’s literally clear the vast majority of the floors getting the buffs and then bursting the bosses.

If you’re not doing this already, fight everything and destroy everything you can leading up to the 6th floor (final boss) in a given layer. Facing the last boss without every possible power-up is a mistake! There’s no timer, so go as slowly and methodically as you need to go. Get strong, then take on the final fight.

Don’t forget to utilize everything in your arsenal. Use Crimson Vial proactively, use Kidney Shot often, and pay attention to the anima powers you’re picking up. Personally I focus on collecting powers that will help with the last boss - anything that helps with trash/non-elites is a last resort.

This.

Don’t skip out on most of the floor just because you can stealth because you won’t be strong enough for the final boss. For sub: Lure mobs in using shuriken toss, if you pull too much you can Vanish out. Use your sap, blind and kidney often so you’re not fighting too many mobs at once.

I was skipping a bunch so maybe that is it.

Plus I never seem to get any good powers. They are all trash.

Ive been playing a rogue 14 years and Ive never felt so squishy. I can literally use everything I have and I still cant beat it. Incredibly poor tuning.

I know you don’t want to hear this, but try going sub. I am one of those people who only plays assassination and refuses to branch out. This is gonna sound stupid but I was a little intimidated by sub because it’s so different from the playstyle I enjoy/excel at. BUT ANYWAY I tried sub, and everything is much easier.

Not that it’s not frustrating for your favorite spec to be weak… but for the sake of getting your weekly clears done, imo try sub. And don’t worry about ilevel if you don’t have great weapons, the spec will carry you.

Spec doesn’t really matter that much. Torghast is open to some pretty busted and abusable strats just from the powers provided. Remember there is a layer of RNG. Read the information he provided, it boils down to just getting the best buffs available and bursting the boss down. You may need to reset if you get dealt a bad hand. Dunno why he mentioned spec, he likely doesn’t either.

Best advice right here, you need all the anima powers, freed souls, food, flask, and purchasables in order to beat all the levels
