How do you Sim Mythic Plus/Raid Trash Pulls?

So I have been using RaidBots pretty consistently for a few years, but what I can’t figure out, if it is even possible, is running a sim for specific trash pulls in Raids/M+

Like usually the first pull in most dungeons where everyone uses cooldowns and some DPS can hit the 100k mark… Tank pulls like 10 or 15 mobs, gets aggro and then Bloodlust and uber DPS follow. Where it lasts like 30-45 seconds or whatever and every MOB dies.

and then the sim is over and I get results.

This possible?

Anyone on this? Is it possible?

From my understanding & experience it’s really not possible. There is a dungeon slice option, but most guide writers don’t recommend it. I’ve used it in the past, but now I usually sim for pure ST bosses or 5 bosses for 1 minute for trash. Which is probably a bit too long, and too small at times, to sim for trash but meh. On my mage I would almost always use the add cleave, or hectic add cleave, options. For my lock not as much.

Remember simming is done under “perfect” conditions. Conditions that we will never be in because of mechanics and rng.

Damn. They really should add that somehow. That’s what I want to sim. I do know about dungeon slice. But hat isn’t close to what I am looking for.

DungeonSlice is pretty accurate, you can apparently sim MDT routes as well but I’ve never done that.

Dungeonslice will assume AoE but it’s not perfectly accurate and I believe it uses a long period for its calculations instead of just maximal AoE burst.

You could try “hectic add cleave” simulations, which as far as I’m aware is a boss fight simulation with many adds. That should give a decent representation of heavy AoE for a single pull?

It’s less the sim options, and more the APL support for your class.

Different classes have different levels of APL support for movement and adds.

This. Hectic add cleave and set time to what it normally takes your group to finish. Stat weights, talents, gear, can change quite a bit from 1min to 5min.

Sim for the scenerio you’re trying to improve on.

Simming won’t help you improve. You simply need to get the rotation down and learn to adapt to the various situations while sticking as close to the rotation as you can.

You’re right, it’s not perfectly accurate. Though it does account for burst phases (thanks Arcane mages!)

As for the fight length, it is good to know what your best burst is (why not, right?). I would also recommend a longer sim because it will account for long cooldowns not being up for the next pull (like IQD, can’t use it every pull)

It saves you time when trying new things and finding out if they work or not. Training dummy after finding a build you like/want.

Not really. Dungeon slice and hectic add cleave are not very accurate.

Patchwerk is whats most accurate.
